Hallmark fans have seen longtime star Luke Macfarlane dressed in everything from fall flannels to a Santa suit. But his new fashion layout in Photoshoot Magazine has the actor and expert woodworker donning some new looks — including a head-turning navy pleated.
Published to social media on September 29, 2025, the photos immediately had fans drooling over the longtime Hallmark hunk and star of “Platonic” on AppleTV+, with one person declaring “he is so perfect” and another describing Macfarlane as “so hot.”

Among the many outfits Macfarlane wore for the Photoshoot Magazine layout was a double-breasted Sivan suit with a crisp white shirt and pleated wool skirt, also by the designer.
In bare feet, Macfarlane hiked up his skirt above one knee, showing off his muscular legs. The “Home Is Where The Heart Is” star takes his fitness very seriously, from frequent workouts to mountain climbing, including a risky July trek to the highest point in Europe.
Another look for Photoshoot Magazine featured a traditional, Donegal tweed double-breasted suit in grey melange, also designed by Silvan, plus shoes by MAGNANNI, and a coordinating cap and tie. Meanwhile, a chocolate brown suit Macfarlane posed in was by Le Catou, with a rich evergreen peacoat designed by Ethan Lewy.
When the online magazine asked Macfarlane how he finds roles that are a “good fit” for him, he thoughtfully replied, “‘Good fit’ is an interesting turn of phrase. It makes me think about how often in photoshoots we have to use pins, clamps and tape to make the clothes look perfect—even when they don’t fit my body. But I don’t think I ever decided not to try on an outfit even when it was not a perfect fit off the rack. It’s fun trying on the clothes and seeing if I can make it work and seeing how it makes me feel.”
As for how he keeps his many Hallmark roles feeling fresh, Macfarlane told the magazine, “I suppose I just keep finding lovely co-stars to fall for.”
Luke Macfarlane’s Keeping Busy Onscreen, But Would Love to Dabble in Theater Again
HallmarkMacfarlane, who shares his two-year-old daughter Tess with longtime partner Hig Roberts, currently co-stars in his second season of “Platonic” alongside Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. This fall, he’ll appear with Olivia Holt in the zombie thriller “This Is Not a Test,” making its world premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Festival before its October 17 release.
In early September, fellow Hallmark fan favorite Brittany Bristow revealed in her Instagram Stories that she was filming a new rom-com with Macfarlane, but details haven’t been released. Hallmark also has not announced whether his unscripted home renovation series has been renewed for a second season.
When Photoshoot magazine asked what other career goals are on his mind, Macfarlane said, “I am excited to go back and do some theatre work. It’s been a while now and I need to be scared [expletive]-less again on a Broadway stage before the curtain goes up.”
The Juilliard graduate also noted, “I love music and play the cello so maybe they will call on me to do the Mstislav Rostropóvich biopic.”
