Hallmark fans are swooning over a handful of behind-the-scenes glimpses of the “Mistletoe Murders” cast and crew working on season 3. A recent social media post teased the first read-through of the upcoming season with the cast, and now filming has officially begun.
The Cast & Crew of ‘Mistletoe Murders’ Are Hard at Work Filming Season 3
On May 11, a new video was posted on the Instagram page for “Mistletoe Murders.” The iconic Daryl Hall and John Oates song “You Make My Dreams (Come True)” played in the background as a collage of snapshots flashed on the screen.
Text on the video read, “WE are back baby! Season 3 is underway.”
Many of the photos featured Sarah Drew, who is both an executive producer and star of the series. In most of the photos, various members of both the cast and the crew held up three fingers as they hammed it up for the camera, signaling season 3.
The filming update came just a few days after an earlier Instagram post that provided a “wee peek at the new scripts.”
The caption of that post promised “more behind the scenes goodness” for fans as things progressed. Luckily, fans didn’t have to wait long for their next dose of the goodness.
Hallmark Fans Were Excited to See the Backstage Glimpses From Filming
“Mistletoe Murders” fans were quick to express their excitement for the new behind-the-scenes snapshots.
One fan had a suggestion for production. They commented, “Great, however just do 3 and 4 back to back like season 1 and 2. Make spirits bright for 2026 Christmas!!”
Unfortunately, at this point, “Mistletoe Murders” has only been renewed for a third season and not yet a fourth. It seems likely that fans will be begging for a fourth once the third airs. However, for now, the cast and crew are working solely on season 3.
Several Hallmark fans commented they were “So excited!!!!” and expressed their enthusiasm that “Mistletoe Murders” is returning later this year.
A fan gushed, “This made my day!!!”
When People announced the “Mistletoe Murders” renewal in February, Drew gushed over the news. She shared, “As I’ve said in numerous interviews, this is my favorite job I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to tell more stories about Emily and Sam.”
Drew added, “I can’t wait to resolve that giant cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to be back on set with my beloved community in Toronto.”
She also teased that fans should “Buckle up” because season 3 would be a “wild ride.”
Peter Mooney also gushed over the renewal news. He told People, “This is one of those rare shows for us all. The cast is incredible, the crew is incredible. We have so much fun making it.”
As People noted, “Mistletoe Murders” on Hallmark is based on an Audible Original series with the same name. The Audible series currently has four seasons available to listeners. That means there’s more material available, should Hallmark choose to renew “Mistletoe Murders” for a fourth season.
Hallmark has not given fans a premiere date for the new season yet. Despite that, fans are ready to start counting down to the big premiere date.
