Sarah Drew Teases ‘Magical’ New Hallmark Movie

Hallmark star Sarah Drew has a new movie coming up, and it’ll have fans believing in more than just love.

During her appearance at the Hallmark Christmas Experience in late 2025, the “Mistletoe Murders” star gushed about her upcoming romance, “The Stars Between Us.” In the clip, which she now reposted to her Instagram, Drew shares some of what the movie is about, and why it connected with her in a personal level.

Sarah Drew Says ‘The Stars Between Us’ Feels Like a ’90s Rom-com

In the short video, Drew starts by describing the movie, which premieres on February 21, as “really cute.” “It kinda harkens back to some of those classic ’90s rom-coms,” she said, adding, “there’s a serendipity aspect to it.”

She then explains that much like the rom-com classics like “When Harry Met Sally,” “The Stars Between Us” has her character and her love interest, played by Matt Long, meeting for the first time, then only reconnecting years later.

“Two people who meet watching an eclipse,” she said, adding that they only meet again on “page 90 of the script.” “We keep having these awesome near-misses while talking about this magical person,” she continued.

Sarah Drew Connected With the Message Behind ‘The Stars Between Us’

According to Drew, “The Stars Between Us,” which she continued to describe as “fantastic, sweet, romantic and magical,” is all about “how the universe kind of draws people together.”

“There were so many moments in the script when I went ‘That what I think! That’s what I believe!'” she revealed. “Everything happens for a reason and if the paths don’t cross at the exactly right moment it means the timing wasn’t perfect and the timing is always perfect.”

Prior to “The Stars Between Us,” Drew has starred in a series of Hallmark movies and TV shows including “Branching Out,” “Guiding Emily,” “Christmas in Vienna,” and the “Mistletoe Murders” mystery series.

Drew will also be starring in the highly buzzed Jimmy Stewart biopic titled “Jimmy” later this year on November 6, 2026. In the movie, starring KJ Apa as Stewart himself, Drew will be playing Hedda Hopper, an iconic Hollywood gossip columnist.

The cast also includes Hallmark star Jen Lilley as Gloria Stewart, Jimmy Stewart’s wife. “Jimmy” will also have Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer, Max Casella as Frank Capra, and Julian Works as Second Lieutenant Martinez.

The movie chronicles Pennsylvania-native Stewart’s rise in Hollywood, including winning an Academy Award for his work in “The Philadelphia Story,” before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a combat pilot at the beginning of World War II.
