Hallmark fan favorite Sarah Drew has a new movie set to premiere soon. “The Stars Between Us” features Drew and Matt Long, and the film debuts on Saturday, February 21.
Long previously starred in Hallmark’s “Christmas Joy,” which was released in 2018. Drew has starred in numerous Hallmark projects, including the fan-favorite series “Mistletoe Murders.”
Sarah Drew Plays Kim, Who Runs Into a Former Romantic Connection

In “The Stars Between Us,” Drew plays a news reporter named Kim. She travels to Illinois for an eclipse and runs into someone she had a brief romantic connection with seven years earlier during another eclipse.
So far, Hallmark has not released details on Long’s character. However, based on the short synopsis that is available and the photos released so far, it seems safe to say he is that former connection of Kim’s. It also seems safe to say that the sparks the two previously experienced will fly again.
The Facebook page Hallmark Love shared the main photo for the movie after it was released by Hallmark, and fans are loving it. The caption of the Facebook post read, “This cast alone has us seated.”
One fan commented, “Can’t wait!”
Another simply wrote, “WOW” and added a thumbs up and heart emoji.

Hallmark Fans Are Excited for ‘The Stars Between Us’

After Hallmark released the initial photos for “The Stars Between Us,” Drew shared a teaser via her Instagram page. She wrote, “In other news… I have a super cute movie with the fantastic and most wonderful @realmattlong coming out on @hallmarkchannel on Saturday Feb 21 at 8/7c!”
Drew added, “Tune in for some love and some joy!!”
The comment section of Drew’s Instagram post was quickly filled with enthusiastic responses. Many Hallmark fans used simple emojis to signal their excitement. Others made it clear they were eager to check this one out.
One fan gushed, “WOOOOOW! My faves working together?! I’m screaming! I’m so freaking happy!”
“OMG April Kepner and James Peterson in a movie together,” another fan wrote.
Drew played April Kepner on “Grey’s Anatomy” for several seasons. James Peterson, as the fan referenced, was a character that Long portrayed on the “Grey’s Anatomy” sister show “Private Practice.”
Long appeared as Peterson in 10 episodes that aired from 2012 to 2013.
Someone else added of “The Stars Between Us,” “Wonderful! Love all your movies, and some joy right now sounds just perfect – thank you!”
“I’m so glad Matt is back on Hallmark,” noted an additional fan.
“Soooooo excited for this serendipitous movie,” added another.
Drew’s new film emerges as Hallmark fans wait for news on a “Mistletoe Murders” renewal. Hallmark has yet to make any announcements, either positive or negative, about a potential return for the beloved series.
