Sarah Drew Teases What’s Holding Up ‘Mistletoe Murders’ Season 3 Hallmark Renewal

Season 2 of Hallmark’s “Mistletoe Mysteries” wrapped on November 21, and fans want more. Can viewers expect to see a third season come at some point down the line? Sarah Drew shared a bit of insight on that front during a recent podcast appearance.

Sarah Drew Revealed What’s Holding up Plans for Season 3

Drew talked about the potential for additional seasons during her November 19 appearancer on the “Pop Culture Unplugged” podcast. She gushed about how making the show, where she has major roles both on camera and behind the scenes. She said it’s her all-time favorite job she’s had over the course of her career.

When she was asked if there will be more seasons of “Mistletoe Murders,” she seemed eager to see it happen. “We just have, we’re just waiting on a season pickup,” Drew responded.

She continued, “We can’t start those conversations until they give us the go-ahead.” Drew made it sound as if there’s a strong interest on her end, but she doesn’t want to get too serious about the potential additional seasons and storylines until Hallmark officially renews the series.

Drew did encourage fans to “make as much noise as you can” about wanting more “Mistletoe Murders.” She added, “because everybody listens.”

Hallmark Fans Aren’t Shy About Wanting More

Hallmark fans are not wasting any time in rallying for another season of “Mistletoe Murders.” As the last two episodes of season 2 aired, one fan noted that the show was trending on X, formerly Twitter.

They tweeted, “How could you not renew this show, @hallmarkchannel?”

Another viewer tweeted, “Season three please!!!”

“Dear @hallmarkchannel, we need a Season 3 of #mistletoemurders with at least 8-10 episodes. Thank you, bye,” someone else added.

Season 2 consisted of just six episodes, which aired over the course of just three weeks, with double episodes airing each Friday.

In the Hallmark Movies subreddit, before watching the episodes, one fan wrote, “So hope many things are answered tonight but want a season 3. Watched it last year and was so excited for this year.”

Will Hallmark listen to the fans and greenlight a third season of “Mistletoe Murders”? The network has been known to order additional movies or seasons when the viewers make it clear they want it, as happened with the “Three Wise Men” movies as well as “The Groomsmen” movies.

Fans likely will not have an answer regarding a “Mistletoe Murders” renewal for a bit. As Drew suggested, they should make their hopes known in the meantime.

    • I agree. Especially because the way they left season 2 as a cliffhanger.. it would be maddening for them to not have a season 3 so we can know what happened after she answered her door to see the person she most feared standing right in front of her.

      • Agree: Great cliffhanger. To be honest, it was a little predictable that her nemesis would be at the door–especially since she didn’t ask who it was; I actally said, “I’ll bet the guy at the door will be the one from her past whom she’s hiding from.” And, sure enough, it was. I expected that ending, but it still didn’t take away from the satisfaction of that ending–nor how fabulous the series is. Hope they do a Season 3.

    • Season 2 was great so naturally my wife and I want another season. I t would be idiotic to have the show end forever on a cliffhanger without a clear, enjoyable resolution!

    • My wife and I agree with you. First 2 seasons are very well done especially with the double episodes each week. Been waiting for weeks for the cliffhanger that they ended with and trust hallmark will respond to the fan interest.

  8. There is absolutely no reason not to have a season 3 and beyond. This is one of the best shows that Hallmark has offered in a long time. Hoping the powers that be listen to the fans and green light this series for more seasons to come…with more episodes because 6 just isn’t enough.

  13. With one or two exceptions this is a true mystery show! Everyone and every story line says we want more! Lots more! The cast is perfect and the story lines leave us wanting more! If they don’t keep this show as a permanent series you all need to have another executive shake up!

    • I don’t think the powers that be really care about the fans. I mean look at some of the other series that they ended with cliffhangers and gave us no closure. Cedar Cove and Mystery 101 both ended with cliffhangers and those were not the only two either. I really hope they prove me wrong this time because missile told murders is an excellent excellent show.

  16. Definitely renew Mistletoe Murders for another season and beyond. It is so much fun to watch and figure out the ending. Besides you left us hanging with the last episode. We were just beginning to hear Emily’s back story. What about Ray’s back story? And what about the story line between Emily and Sam? Please keep renewing this series.

I’ve watched both seasons twice already, on Hallmark +… Sarah Drew is wonderful in this series, and I will be so disappointed if it doesn’t renew…My only concern is that I’d love to see it appear before the end of 2026!

  83. Agreed. Love Mistletoe Murders. Easily the best I’ve seen on the Hallmark Channel. What’s not to love? Great characters, funny/cute scenes, murder, mystery, intrigue, romance and a badass female lead. Would love a longer third season! Six episodes is not enough. Even my husband enjoyed watching this series with me. I would consider subscribed to the hallmark channel just to watch Mistletoe Murders.

  87. TV series today are put a shame by past programming from days gone by (like Murder, She Wrote, For example), and we put up with it groveling for more. How many episodes per season were there? Exactly! Please! Seasons with five or six shows— it’s ridiculous!
