Fans have known Tamera Mowry-Housley since she was young thanks to the fact that she started acting before she was even a teenager. In fact, her website notes that along with her twin, Tia Mowry, her show “Sister, Sister made Tamera Mowry-Housley a 90’s pop culture icon.” Nowadays, she’s can still be seen onscreen due to her status as a popular Hallmark star.
Of course, the actress, who is now 47 years old, and her personal life have grown and evolved over time as much as her career. That’s why she’s decided to share a few key insights that she’s learned while also being curious about what wisdom others have earned along the way.
Tamera Addresses What She Calls ‘Life Shifts’
“In life there are these life shifts, as I like to call them — and in my 40s I’ve been having them lately. 🤪,” Tamera wrote in the caption of an Instagram post she shared on Tuesday, May 26.
In her video, she explained, “What nobody warns you about in your 40s, is how your friendships change.”
“One, I feel like my group of friends got smaller, but deeper,” she noted. She also pointed out, “When we’re honest, we’re honest with love. Being honest doesn’t mean you have an open invitation to be rude.”
“The other thing is boundaries,” Tamera added. “I think it’s so important to set boundaries with your family, your friends. And the people that love you will appreciate those boundaries.”
The actress added, “Another one is, I realized that motherhood takes priority. It changes your time that you have, and you know what? That’s okay.”
“Oh, and one more thing: peace over drama,” she continued. “I am too old to be focusing on the drama and negativity of it all. I prioritize peace.”
She then asked her followers, “Has this happened to you guys?”
In her caption, she had a couple more questions for her fans, and added, “So, ladies in your 40s, what have you been learning lately? And for my ladies not in your 40s yet… what season of life are you in and what is it teaching you?”
