Hallmark star Tyler Hynes has been busy over the past few months filming new projects. However, he has also made time to attend fan events and try new experiences.
The Canadian actor recently spent time in Georgia, and one of the things he did for the first time will surely give some of his fans a giggle. He shopped at a Publix store, a grocery chain he had never been to before, and he enjoyed it.
Tyler Hynes Saw Similarities to His Home of Canada
As Southern Living shared, Hynes attended the Christmas in a Small Town convention in Dahlonega, Georgia, in late July. He told the media outlet that he hasn’t been in the South much, but he enjoys it more and more each time he has the opportunity.
Hynes explained, “You meet characters and people who are so unique to this part of the country, and it is my favorite thing in the world.”
During his visit to Dahlonega, Hynes embraced the friendliness he found at the Mountain Top Lodge, where he stayed. “I walked into the lodge where we were staying, and everybody was there with a smile. They seemed so warm and welcoming,” the Hallmark star recalled.
“Certainly the people are the standout thing here, but there’s also a certain vibe that is similar to Canadians—similar sort of humidity and greenery. It reminds me of Canada a lot,” Hynes explained.
While in Georgia, a friend from Florida visited him and guided him through an epic first: shopping at the Publix grocery store.
Southern Living pointed out that the grocery chain’s tagline is “Publix, where shopping is a pleasure,” and Hynes couldn’t argue that. “Yeah, it was a pleasure, to be honest,” he admitted.
Hallmark Stars Have Fallen in Love With the Charming Southern Town
In July, as the event took place, Southern Living shared additional tidbits. Hynes wasn’t the only Hallmark star there, the media outlet noted.
“A Christmas Witness” star Colin Egglesfield was there, and he seemed to enjoy it just as much as Hynes did. He shared, “It almost seems like it was made specifically for a Hallmark movie.”
Egglesfield added, “People are really generous and down to earth and sweet. And the food’s been great. The downtown area, it’s just picturesque.”
Kristoffer Polaha attended the convention and described the town square as “utterly charming and like a film set.”
In July, Hynes also told the media outlet that being in that area of the South is truly unique. “You get a certain texture of being here that’s unlike anywhere else in the world.”
Hynes added, “There’s something about the inside of America that feels unique and makes for very open-hearted Americans who have the grounded humility of a Canadian, and that’s my favorite.”
