In 2025, Ben and Erin Napier announced a “Home Town” spinoff following their friends as they transformed an old building into a beautiful hotel. But just as the project neared completion, a fire broke out — leaving the HGTV series in limbo. Now, it’s finally set to air. Get all the details!
Ben & Erin Napier’s ‘Home Town’ Hotel Spinoff Is Coming Soon
On April 10, the HGTV Instagram account shared the exciting news about the premiere date for the “Home Town” spinoff.
“Napier news!! Ben and Erin will be helping their best friends Jim, Mallorie, and Josh take on Laurel’s biggest project yet — turning the abandoned 1930 Kress building into a dream inn on the brand new series Home Town: Inn This Together,” the caption shared.
The network added, “Don’t miss the premiere Sunday, May 10 at 8|7c. 💪⚒️🛎️ #HomeTownInnThisTogether.”
Fans shared their excitement in the comments, noting, “Love this and excited to watch,” “Can’t wait!” and “Yay!!! Looking forward to it!”
Erin first teased the new show in an August 2025 Instagram post.
“NEW SHOW ALERT! ‘Inn This Together’: wherein our best friends are crazy enough to buy a long vacant cornerstone building in downtown Laurel and convert it into a boutique hotel, @theheirloom.us with @scotsmanusa US-made-only kitchen store on the first floor,” she wrote in the caption. “We’ll help and y’all can watch in 2026 on @hgtv.”
In the post’s video, she shared that the series involved “our best friends, Jim and Mallory and Josh, who built a dang hotel, and we helped them.”
“Anyway, y’all watch. It’ll be out in 2026 and we’re all really excited about this,” she noted.
A Devastating Fire Sidelined the Project
On August 26, 2025, a fire broke out at The Heirloom. “After so much celebration last week, today my best friends @malraz, Jim, and @joshuanowell lost their labor of love, their dream, @theheirloom.us hotel in an early morning fire,” Napier shared in an Instagram post at the time.
The HGTV star continued, “Before they ever even welcomed the first guest. Praise God, no one was inside. We held each other and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control.”
“I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything,” she wrote. “Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways.”
“But I know God has a plan for this setback,” she added. “He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”
The setback was heartbreaking, but the Napiers’ friend, Josh Nowell, provided Instagram updates about their determination to “keep building.”
