HGTV star Jenny Marrs often shares personal moments and hardships with fans via social media, including her health battles.
Jenny Marrs Suffered a Herniated Disc
Marrs previously shared a clip from season 6 of her hit show, “Fixer to Fabulous,” in which she revealed a painful back injury.
“In my defence, I’m a visual person. I think I like something but I have to see it. Then, I realize I don’t. 🤪 And, I have a herniated disc (highly painful – I do not recommend) and so I can’t lift the planter,” she captioned a January 2025 Instagram post. “So, yes. Dave may have had to ‘scootch’ it a few times. Thankfully, @christylamers_blossom was on my side. 😆👏”
The designer explained that she was trying to “avoid surgery,” according to TV Line. She reportedly thanked the follower for the “helpful perspective.”
“So sorry about her health issues,” one fan commented.
“Jenny, There are a lot of people with your disability. (Me too). Don’t overdo yourself. Stop at your limitations. Thank goodness you have a very special man to be by your side,” another suggested.
Jenny Marrs Is Allergic to Synthetic Mint
Rumors began swirling that the HGTV favorite got lip filler after her pout appeared more plump than normal. However, Marrs quickly shut down the speculation, revealing that she suffered a terrible allergic reaction.
“NO I did NOT get ‘my lips done,'” Marrs shared via her Instagram Story in January 2023. “I had a terrible allergic reaction last year that took months to heal. It was such a nightmare and was so, so painful. My lips were swollen, and it hurt to talk and eat. I cried every day when we filmed because it hurt so badly to talk. I was in and out of doctors, trying everything. It just took time to heal (plus steroids).”
According to the Arkansas-based star, she’s allergic to synthetic mint, as she pointed to toothpaste as the cause of her reaction.
In May 2025, Marrs reflected on the ordeal, further revealing she underwent a lip biopsy after doctors grew concerned over her healing process.
“I had an allergic reaction that just wasn’t healing (no, I didn’t get lip filler) and my doctor wanted to biopsy to make sure it wasn’t something else,” she shared via her Instagram Story. “I’m thankful that my lips have healed and my scar is all that’s left of this awful season of constant pain.”
