Kim Kardashian is embracing her post-divorce journey with newfound confidence and independence.
The reality TV star graced the cover of the October issue of Vogue France and gave a candid interview about her life following her split from Kanye West in February 2021.
The now 44-year-old revealed what her mother, Kris Jenner, told her before turning 40.
“When I was forty, my mother told me that the next few years would be the most beautiful of my life,” Kardashian began. “And it is true that it is only in the last three or four years that I have acquired this insurance.”
Kardashian didn’t name her ex-husband, but seemingly opened up about the relationship.
“Before, I had to constantly consult someone to make a decision,” she told the magazine. “Do you realize? It’s crazy to need the opinion of others all the time. Today I know exactly what I want. It’s exciting.”
Kardashian on Finding Her Own Style
Kardashian credits designer Demna for helping her embrace her own style and disregard public opinion, signaling a shift towards self-assurance.
“I think it’s with Demna that things have really changed. He doesn’t care about the eyes of others, so I learned to do the same,” she added. “We have become very close.”
The SKIMS mogul continued, “I can dress more simply, without the help of a stylist, according to my own tastes. It’s very rewarding.”
While Kardashian now has newfound confidence, she wasn’t always that way. During a June 2018 event, she revealed that West had strong opinions on her fashion sense, according to the Daily Mail.
“I always thought I had really good style until I met my husband and he told me that I had the worst style,” she reportedly stated at the time.
“He was really nice about it and cleaned out my whole closet,” she continued. “I probably had 250 pairs of shoes and when we were done cleaning it out, I had two pairs left and I cried.”
Kardashian Is Staying Busy
Kardashian is keeping busy, as she has numerous projects in the works!
She recently announced that SKIMS has partnered with Nike for a collaboration of athleticwear and expressed her happiness in an interview with Vogue on Monday, September 22.
“Anytime I want to partner with someone, no matter what the product is, it has to be inspiring to me—and I have to feel like other women will be motivated to work out, and want to wear this,” she told the magazine. “We just wanted to make clothes that make you feel really good about yourself.”
The collaboration is set to drop on Friday, September 26.
Kardashian will also be starring in Ryan Murphy’s “All’s Fair” that is slated to premiere November 2025.
