Brody Jenner took to Instagram on Thursday to support his fellow “The Hills” cast member Spencer Pratt’s mayoral aspirations.
Brody Jenner’s Supportive Message For Spencer Pratt
Pratt recently announced he’s running for mayor in Los Angeles. Fans expressed excitement, and he’s already secured one vote from “The Hills” star Jenner.
On his Instagram story, Jenner explained why Pratt is qualified for the position. “Let me clear something up,” he began. “Spencer Pratt graduated from USC with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He’s genuinely one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. He didn’t ‘end up’ in reality TV, he chose it because he loved it and understood the opportunity,” Jenner wrote.
Jenner continued on, standing up for Pratt amid various criticisms. He wrote, “And for everyone out there saying he ‘doesn’t have a job,’ that just shows how little they understand the industry. Being on a television show, yes, even a so-called ‘reality’ show, is real work. The shooting schedules are long, intense, and often more demanding than many of the traditional jobs people love to look down on.”
As for why Pratt will be getting his vote, Jenner had a couple of reasons. “Spencer isn’t afraid to think differently or speak up, and that’s exactly what this city needs. He has my vote, because at the very least, he has the backbone to stand up to career politicians who’ve done little to move Los Angeles forward,” Jenner concluded.
Pratt’s announcement occurred on the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire, in which Pratt and his wife, “The Hills” star Heidi Montag, lost their home. According to Politico, the fire took 12 lives and destroyed more than 6,000 homes.
Brody Jenner’s Reality TV Career
GettyJenner, son of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Caitlyn Jenner, started on his own reality show alongside his brother, Brandon Jenner. The series, titled “The Princes of Malibu,” ran for one season and followed the brothers’ lives. Pratt, already a friend of Jenner’s, also appeared on the show.
From there, Pratt and Jenner had a long run on MTV’s “The Hills” and later appeared in his sisters’ reality shows: “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Kourtney and Kim Take New York.” He was also on “I Am Cait,” which chronicled Caitlyn’s gender transition, where he and Caitlyn attempted to fix their relationship.
Jenner also hosted and produced a competition show called “Bromance,” in which men competed to be friends with the reality star and join his entourage. In 2025, Jenner became a reality TV competitor and a force to be reckoned with when he won “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
