It is a big night for Nikki Glaser as she returns as the host of the Golden Globes once again. She was a success in 2025, so the pressure is on for 2026. Before audiences see her take to the stage at the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, which will air live on Sunday, January 11, on CBS and be available to stream on Paramount+, this is a better look at her personal life, specifically her relationship with Chris Convy.
They’ve Broken up Multiple Times
Glaser and Convy have been dating for almost 10 years, but their relationship has included several breakups. The comedian discussed these in an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2024. “Our breaks have gone from maybe two days to one was three years long,” Glasser said. “He’s broken up with me. In the beginning of our relationship, I think I wanted a boyfriend so badly, I really misrepresented who I was.”
She continued, “I thought getting a boyfriend meant being agreeable and just doing everything, never fighting, [and] never saying, ‘I don’t like what you just said,’ because then he’d be like, ‘Well, that’s the way I am, bye.'”
Chris Has Given Her Permission to Make Jokes About Him
As a comedian, Glaser often draws on her own experiences and is inspired by people in her life for her comedy material. This includes Convy, but he has a great sense of humor and understands what she does because he lets her joke about him.
My boyfriend’s so cool,” Glaser told People in June 2025. “He’s given me permission. He said, ‘You can talk about anything on stage about me as long as it’s funny. The second it isn’t, if it bombs, then we have an issue. If you’re just venting up there just to get it off your chest and embarrass me, not good, but if you’re up there and you’re making a solid joke, you can do whatever you want.'”
Chris Is a Producer

“I had a show on MTV, it was my first TV show,” she said. “He was a producer on the show and he was from St. Louis, where I was from.” Her comments about him also suggest there was an instant connection. “I just had a crush from afar which was so fun because I was just pining for him constantly,” she said. “It was very Jim and Pam [from The Office], I was Jim, and he had no idea.”
He Has Helped Her Stop Lying
GettyThere are many things that Glaser and Convy have likely learned about themselves and improved while in a relationship. But the one we know for sure is when she told “The Howard Stern Show” that he had her stop lying. “He really got me to stop lying, I’m better at it I’m not perfect at it because I still fear abandonment,” she said. “So there’s some issues in our relationship where I fear he’s going to be mad at me.”
They’re Trying to Figure Things Out
GettyGlaser has been honest about her relationship with Convy not being perfect, but as their relationship has progressed, she has also realized it does not need to be. “I had a breakthrough recently with him where we were kind of maybe going to go our separate ways … and then I just stopped. It’s so basic, but I just realized, like, no one I’m fantasizing about maybe replacing him with … no one’s going to be perfect,” she told Bill Maher, Cosmopolitan reports.
She continued, “He doesn’t need to be perfect for me. It was really just about acceptance, and we’ve just been so good ever since. We’re just trying to be partners and figure it out.”
