Will There Be a Golden Globes 2026 In Memoriam Tribute?

The Golden Globes 2026 will air on Sunday, January 11, on CBS and will be available to stream on Paramount+. It is a great night for the entertainment industry to celebrate some of its top talents, and there are several fan favorites up for the win this year. But will the show also feature an In Memoriam tribute after losing so many beloved stars in 2025?

Several entertainment legends lost their lives in 2025, including Diane Keaton, Rob Reiner, Robert Redford, Val Kilmer, director David Lynch, and Gene Hackman. Will the award show be honoring these celebrities, and so many more?

It is not typical for the Golden Globes to feature an In Memoriam tribute as other award shows do. Instead, they normally announce those we have lost and celebrate their lives by mentioning them on their official website. Despite this, special mention will be given to some stars, with host Nikki Glaser discussing how she will approach honoring Rob Reiner, who, along with his loving wife, Michele Singer Reiner, was killed on December 14.

There’s not a whole section set aside to honor everyone we’ve lost,” Glaser told USA Today. “But I have something planned that I’m going to do in my own way to just acknowledge (Reiner) and celebrate him in my own way.”

She continued, ”I knew (Reiner), but not that well. I’m not going to linger on it too much because I think that’s what we’ve been doing for the past few weeks. But obviously, I thought if something happened to me and Rob Reiner was hosting a show, given our relationship, how would I want him to handle it? I think I landed on something that I feel he would do for me, too.”

As host again this year, Glaser knows that she has to do her best to make it another memorable show. “I kind of nailed it,” she told The Hollywood Reporter of her hosting gig in 2025. “And it scares me, because that was kind of lightning in a bottle. I got really lucky with some of the nominees. Everything worked out. So it’s a high bar.”

The films leading the nominations this year are “One Battle After Another,” “Sentimental Value, “Sinners,” “Hamnet,” “Frankenstein,” and “Wicked: For Good.” In television, top-nominated shows include “The White Lotus,” “Adolescence,” “Only Murders in the Building,” and “Severance.”

Podcast fans will also be excited that this year the show introduced a new awards category for Best Podcast.
