Fergie’s little boy is growing up.
The artist and her ex-husband, Josh Duhamel, welcomed their son Axl Jack on August 29, 2013. Though the couple later divorced, they still have a strong co-parenting relationship for their son’s sake. Duhamel told Us Weekly that Fergie is an “amazing mom” to their son.
This week, Axl Jack celebrated his 13th birthday. Both his parents shared sentimental family photos of the boy throughout his life and wished him a wonderful week.
Fergie Gets Emotional Over Her Son’s 13th Birthday
Actor Josh Duhamel went on to tie the knot again and welcome more children after his 2019 split from Fergie. However, the singer hasn’t remarried and Axl Jack remains her only child. His 13th birthday has left her feeling particularly emotional.
“13. 🎂🎂 Wow, my teenager. I’m saying that with tears in my eyes as I feel like the world is shifting beneath us. It’s so beautiful to watch you grow into the kind, silly, and cool dude you are. You are so tough bruh 🤣🤣. Happy 13th Axl Jack. I love you,” Fergie penned a touching tribute to her son.
While many fans loved looking at the throwback photos, many noted how much of a striking resemblance the 13-year-old bears to his famous mother.
“He looks just like you! No DNA test required,” one fan quipped in the comments.
“Omg! Time flies by so fast! He looks so much like his mother ❤️” another chimed in.
“Happy birthday, Axy!!!!! Can’t believe you are a teenager!!!!! We love you 💖💖💖💖” someone else added.
Fergie doesn’t often post photos of her family on social media. However, she always honors Axl Jack on his birthday. Last year, she wrote another heartfelt post for his 12th birthday and added several more family photos.
Josh Duhamel Wishes His Son a Wonderful Birthday
After finalizing his divorce from Fergie, Josh Duhamel married Miss World America, Audra Mari, on September 10, 2022. They welcomed a son in 2024 and a daughter in 2026. Having a blended family isn’t always easy, but it seems that Axl Jack enjoys being an older brother.
“Guess who’s a TEENAGER!? Holy crap that went fast. I love this dude so much. I couldn’t have asked for a more kind, compassionate and thoughtful kid. HAPPY 13th B-DAY AXL JACK!!!” Duhamel shared in his own Instagram post.
The actor attached several photos of his son as a small child. In the last photo, Axl Jack holds one of his baby siblings in his arms.
In another post, the “Transformers” actor revealed they took Axl to Universal Studios to celebrate.
“Had an incredible day at Universal Studios Hollywood this week celebrating my son Axl’s 13th BIRTHDAY!!! Thank you to the whole team that made it a day we won’t forget! @unistudios,” Duhamel wrote.
In 2025, the actor told Us Weekly that he’s reexamining his own parenting skills after playing a deadbeat father in “London Calling.”
“It was fun to look at some of the things that I could even do better as a dad,” he told the publication. “I work a lot, and I often have a lot of guilt about not being there as often as I could be. So I try to maybe overcompensate or do things to be there often.”
