Prince Jackson Makes Rare Public Appearance in Las Vegas to Honor His Late Father Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s oldest son, Prince Jackson, was spotted in an ultra-rare outing while in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, August 29. In footage obtained by Page Six, Prince was seen in a crowd at Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE show.

Prince Jackson Makes Rare Public Outing

Prince was in the crowd with fans and was dressed casually. He wore a black cap and a black shirt. When it was time to wish Jackson a heavenly birthday, Prince was seen raising his hands and shouting “Happy birthday, Michael!” along with other attendees, the publication reports. On August 29, it would have been Jackson’s 68th birthday.

While Prince occasionally updates fans about his life on social media, on both Instagram and YouTube, he is rarely photographed in public. The publication reports that at the event he was also seen signing autographs and speaking to fans.

Prince Jackson Reflects on Father Michael Jackson’s Career

Prince, whose mother is Jackson’s ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, has shared his thoughts on his father and his legacy. “It makes me feel so proud to have a history and a heritage, and proud of what my dad accomplished over the years, because we’re here 40 years later, and it’s nuts,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in October 2022. “Here we are at the 40th, and to be celebrating it and to see so much love and so much respect for my father, still to this day, is incredible.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009, and in his interview, Prince discussed his grief. “It’s still a process for me, a grieving process and a journey that I’ve been on,” he said. “And I don’t think that any one way is right. You have to do what makes you feel good and whatever helps you deal with the loss of someone that you loved significantly. Unfortunately, that’s the best advice I can give. Life continues to go on, and it’s beautiful. As long as you celebrate them, they’re never gone.”

Prince Jackson Shares Rare Glimpse Into His Life

Prince’s last post on Instagram was on July 31 to tease his trip to Japan, which he planned to share with fans on his YouTube channel. In the caption, he wrote, “The last video of our Japan trip is on my YouTube channel. We’re going to Arashiyama and see some monkeys!”

Fans showed their support for Prince and his latest ventures in the comment section. “I loved this video Prince. Made me smile throughout,” a fan shared. “When I look at you, I still see the little boy from the home videos your dad used to film of you,” another fan wrote.

A third fan wrote, “You have such an upbeat, bubbly energy, Prince. And you put a smile on everyone’s faces just like your dad. i love watching these!”

In a 2016 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Prince revealed that watching his father’s music videos as a child and seeing him prepare for his “This Is It” residency in London helped him realize what he wanted to do. He wants to produce entertainment. “That’s when I knew it was what I wanted to do,” he said. “I loved the thrill of it. I was able to talk to so many people on set. Those doing the lighting or the assistant cameramen; I learned so much.”
