‘Need Time to Heal’: Lola Young Steps Away From Spotlight & Cancels All Upcoming Shows After Onstage Collapse

Putting health at the top priority, Lola Young has made a challenging yet necessary call. The “Messy” singer’s rise in the music world was halted over the weekend when she collapsed during her set at the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in New York on September 27.

Fans noticed her struggling before she lost her balance and fell backward.

The 23-year-old singer canceled her Washington, D.C., performance the next day. Three days later, Young announced she was canceling all of her upcoming events.

‘It Pains Me to Say This’: Singer Tells Fans

On Instagram, Young shared the difficult news. “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future,” she wrote. She added a heartfelt message to her fans: “Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously, you will be entitled to a full refund. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”

Fans Flood Lola’s Social Media With Heartfelt Support

Despite her heartbreak, Young’s fans quickly rallied around her. Her Instagram post drew over 400,000 views and thousands of supportive comments.

“You do you darling! We’ll be here with open arms and open hearts,” one fan wrote. Another added, “That takes courage and acceptance. You will come back stronger and healthier.”

“Emily in Paris” Star Lilly Collins also chimed in: “Sending so much support and light your way. So brave if you. There’s never a rush, only a need to show up for yourself. 🤍”

Another one sweetly reassured Young: “YOU’RE LOVEABLE AND AMAZING EVEN IF YOU NEVER WRITE A SINGLE SONG OR PERFORM FOR PEOPLE EVER AGAIN <3 Just wanted to tell you”

Another sweet comment of reassurance read: “Ahhhh I really feel for you. Take all the time you need. You have the longest and most amazing career ahead of you if you want it. No rush. ♥️”

Health Struggles & Career on the Rise

Young has spoken openly about her personal struggles, including ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, and a rehab stay in 2024. Earlier this year, she pulled out of the We Can Survive concert in Newark due to mental health concerns.

In 2022, she revealed her schizoaffective disorder diagnosis, writing, “I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life… my mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower.”

Her music career, however, has continued to soar. Her second album followed Young’s 2023 debut, “This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway,” which featured the chart-topping single “Messy.” On September 19, she released her third album, “I’m Only F**king Myself.”

Despite her challenges, Young promised to focus on her health with hopes of returning to the stage stronger than ever.
