Ozzy Osbourne’s Rarely Seen Son Louis Breaks Silence on His Beloved Dad’s Passing

Louis Osbourne is speaking publicly for the first time about his father Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral. The rarely seen son revisited the July procession through Buckinghamshire, England, while joining Jack Osbourne on his “Trying Not to Die” podcast.

It became a rare and tender moment between the half-siblings as they remembered the Black Sabbath icon’s final send-off. Ozzy had died a week earlier at age 76 after a heart attack. Louis recalled being overwhelmed by the sheer number of fans who filled the streets to say goodbye.

The Massive Crowd Left Louis “Blown Away”

Louis admitted he expected a modest gathering. “Before we turned onto the street, I just thought it was going to be like two or three people deep for like half a kilometer before where the Black Sabbath bridge was, and it would be a throng,” he said.

The reality was far larger. According to Louis, the turnout was “f–king insane.”

He said he still gets “goosebumps thinking about” the crowds “climbing up lampposts, hanging out of windows, standing on top of bus stops to get a look of it.”

Once the family placed flowers and paid their respects, the crowd continued to follow the procession. “It kept on going for another half a mile and then people were following us all around town,” he said.

Louis called the moment “kind of awe-inspiring,” adding, “I knew people loved him, but I didn’t have a sense of how many and how much.”

Ozzy shared Louis and Jessica, 53, with his ex-wife Thelma Riley. He also adopted Riley’s son Elliot from a previous relationship. Elliot did not appear to attend the funeral.

Jessica and Elliot were not mentioned in the family’s public statement announcing Ozzy’s death.

The message read, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Louis was included, and he later honored his father with a quiet gesture by changing his Facebook profile photo to a black square.

A Complicated Family History Resurfaces

The nature of Elliot’s relationship with Ozzy remains unclear. Jessica, however, previously spoke about their strained connection. In the 2011 documentary “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,” she described her childhood as “erratic” and said her father would be “away for very long periods of time.”

Louis’s statement marked a rare and emotional acknowledgment of the rocker’s impact, both on fans around the world and within his own family.

His memories paint a picture of a farewell that stretched far beyond a single town, capturing the depth of love and legacy Ozzy leaves behind.

  1. I didn’t know Ozzy personally and I went to see him in concert twice but he has been in my life since I was 11yrs old. I listen to Ozzy when I’m sad his music helps me. I listen to Ozzy when I’m mad his music helps me. I will always and forever be Ozzy’s #1 fan. RIP Ozzy🤘🤘
