Mick Jagger’s Family Mourns Deep, Devastating Loss

Music legend Mick Jagger’s family is facing an unimaginable loss. The body of the partner of his granddaughter, Assisi, has been identified after he was found dead days after being reported missing, leaving loved ones heartbroken.

The BBC confirmed that Alexander Key, 37, has passed away, leaving behind his partner and their two young children.

‘A Unique Man Who Wasn’t Afraid To Take Risks

Key, a beloved chef from Boscastle, Cornwall, was confirmed dead on January 31 after being reported missing days earlier. Police later confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious, as per the New York Post.

His sudden and devastating loss has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, and the local community, who knew him as vibrant, fearless, and deeply devoted to those he loved.

Assisi, granddaughter of Sir Mick Jagger, shared a heartfelt message following Key’s death—the message shared by The Rocketstore Bocastle’s official page.

“It is with the deepest of sadness and love in our hearts that we share the passing of Alex Key on January 31, 2026,” she wrote, as reported by Cornwall Live.

She described him as more than just a chef. “For all of us who had the privilege of working with him, Alex was far more than a chef. He was a unique man who wasn’t afraid to take risks and never stopped laughing.”

“His presence at the Rocket Store shaped so many lives and brought fun and rhythm to every service. He was endlessly inspired by different cultures and cuisines, combining fresh Cornish produce with different flavours from his travels. The Rocket Store was the perfect map of his life through food.”

Colleagues Remember His Spirit and Legacy

Key worked at Rocket Store, where colleagues said his presence transformed the kitchen and the people around him.

In a statement, the team shared: “For all of us who had the privilege of working with him, Alex was far more than a chef.

“He was a unique man who wasn’t afraid to take risks and never stopped laughing.”

They also remembered the philosophy he lived by. “Break even and have fun.”

And they shared words he once offered: “‘We should always know that there is something that we are yet to discover within ourselves and the wider reality forged into the universe. “Please take time for yourself, but give time to others.”

Details of His Disappearance

The BBC reported that Key was last seen on January 23 in Boscastle. A public appeal described him as of medium build, with bright peroxide blonde hair, and someone who often wore bright clothing.

He was formally reported missing on January 24. Following a week-long search, his body was discovered in the sea off Bude on January 31. No further details about his final hours have been made public.

He is survived by Assisi and their two children, Romy and Ezra. Loved ones say his laughter, creativity, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
