Iconic music producer and composer Quincy Jones passed away in November 2024 at the age of 91. Now, his Bel-Air home is selling for just a touch under $46 million.
Currently on the market for $45.999 million, this price comes after it was first listed in May 2025 for almost $60 million.
The home that Mansion Global deemed a “megamansion” was custom-built in 2002 for the music industry legend, with his daughter, actress Rashida Jones, sharing a statement to The Wall Street Journal this past May, saying, “My father loved his home so much. He created it from the ground up with his boundless imagination.”
The Hotel-Inspired Mansion Is Massive
The mansion can be found on a 2.3-acre area of raised land and offers the homeowners sweeping views that span from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, according to the listing with David Kramer and Andrew Buss of Compass.
The home itself is 24,920 square feet and was designed by the late architect Gerald “Jerry” Allison with inspiration taken from the Palace of the Lost City hotel in South Africa, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Along with five bedrooms, the sizable abode offers eight full bathrooms and nine half-baths.
The primary suite — which is found in the home’s east wing — has multiple walk-in closets, a spa-style bathroom, a den, a gym and a private balcony.
“This wing also includes a formal dining room, gourmet kitchen with butler’s pantry, family room, and staff quarters,” according to the Compass listing.
The Mansion Boasts Plenty of Amazing Amenities
As you might imagine, this stellar home offers residents plenty of perks. Along with a library and a terrace, which are found in the home’s circular central wing, there is also a “sun-filled double-height atrium” that “connects to a wine bar, tasting room, and cellar, flowing into an indoor garden,” per the Compass listing.
That’s not to mention “a state-of-the-art screening room, a professional office with reception area, a dedicated security office, and a gallery.”
Mansion Global also noted that, “[o]utside, there’s a lighted tennis court, multiple verandas and patios, and an infinity-edge pool with a hot tub.”
Beyond that, Mansion Global points out that “of course,” the home includes “a recording studio, which is large enough to host a group of musicians to record. It’s equipped with an electric keyboard, which Jones would play at night by himself,” per The Wall Street Journal.
