Everything to Know About ‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2

Spoilers ahead

Netflix’s hot new show, “The Hunting Wives” was a hit with viewers, with many wondering if the campy drama will be renewed.

Fans are in luck, as the streaming service announced on September 12 that there will be season 2 of “The Hunting Wives.”

Based on the book written by May Cobb, season 1 followed Texan newcomer Sophie, played by Brittany Snow, and her husband Graham, played Evan Jonigkeit.

The two attempt to fit with the wealthy socialites and politicians, whose hobbies include hunting and having steamy affairs.

As Sophie befriends the wife of Graham’s boss, Margo (Malin Åkerman), she becomes seduced by the titillating world full of dangerous secrets — and gets caught up in a few of her own tangled lies.

Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, with Sophie in the midst of covering up an attempted murder, and Margo hot on her tail.

It remains to be seen if the death of someone close to Margo will tear the friendship apart even further or bring them together as they cover up each other’s secrets.

Who Is Returning to ‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2?

According to Netflix, “much of the original cast” will star in “The Hunting Wives” season 2, including Åkerman and Snow, which they confirmed in an Instagram post shared on September 12.

The two performed a skit in which they portrayed their characters, with Snow replaying the hysterical voice message her character left for Margo in season 1.

“I have a feeling we’re going to see each other real soon. Actually, I know we’re going to see each other really soon,” Åkerman told Snow.

“Pack your boots and load your guns. We’re going back to Maple Brook for season 2, baby!” the “Watchmen” star said.

Jaime Ray Newman, who plays Callie, Margo’s scorned lover, seemingly confirmed her return to season 2 when she shared a screenshot of Deadline’s coverage of the show’s renewal on Instagram.

Jonigkeit was tagged, which indicated that he would be returning, as well as Dermot Mulroney (Graham) and George Ferrier (Brad).

Chrissy Metz and Katie Lowes’ characters were killed off in season 1 so it’s unlikely they will make an appearance in season 2, unless there are some flashback moments.

What Fans Can Expect From ‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2

As for what to expect, the synopsis for season 2 of “The Hunting Wives” shared by Netflix read, “Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

Since season 1 ended with the supposed death of Margo’s brother Kyle after Sophie ran him over with her car, the following season will deal with the aftermath.

Sophie’s marriage to Graham is also up in the air, as her affair with Margo was exposed, causing him to leave her.

Meanwhile, Margo had been kicked out by her husband Jed (Mulroney) after learning that she slept with Jill’s teenage son, Brad.

Since Sophie and Margo’s relationship was an integral part of “The Hunting Wives” season 1, they’ll likely be reunited in some way.

As of yet, the following season’s release date has yet to be announce, so be sure to check back for more updates.
