Are Sincere and Melanie from Love Island USA Season 8 Still Together?

As the Love Island USA Season 8 Reunion airs tomorrow, August 31, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock, no couple enters the building under a larger microscope than third-place finishers Melanie Moreno and Sincere.

Their six-week journey in Fiji was defined by high-octane passion, intense arguments, and public trials that tested their emotional limits.

For fans wondering if their connection survived the transition to the real world, the answer is yes—though the pair is taking a very unique, non-traditional approach to their post-villa status.

The Sol Situation, Amora, and Movie Night Heartbreak

Melanie and Sincere’s villa trajectory was considered the height for the season. While the duo established a strong, immediate attraction early on, their baseline trust shattered during Casa Amor. This happened during the explosive events that followed.

The true damage was revealed during Movie Night, where villa-wide footage exposed Sincere actively pursuing Sol. Crucially, he used the exact same distinct pet name, “beloved,” for both Sol and Melanie. As well, all the times they were intimate and Sincere was not honest became apparent.

The first major rupture occurred with Sol. While Melanie remained loyal, Sincere’s eye wandered toward bombshell Sol, during week 2. While a fan vote soon caused the two to be split up, Melanie recoupled with Corbin and Sincere with Sol. The two wrote each other love letters allowing them to pair back up.

The revelation left Melanie feeling completely disrespected and questioning whether her feelings were being weaponized for a game.

Compounding the fallout, Sincere’s flirtatiousness with Casa bombshell, Amora, added fuel to an already burning fire. With Sincere admitting, “If we had more time, It would’ve been you,” to Amora at the Casa recoupling.

The overlapping situations led to a series of blistering, tearful arguments across the villa. Melanie called out his lack of emotional accountability and Sincere struggled to win her back.

The Family Day Intervention: Maternal Verdicts and Paternal Guilt

The skepticism surrounding their relationship reached a fever pitch during Family Day. This was when the outside world breached the villa walls to offer an unfiltered reality check.

Melanie’s family held absolutely nothing back. Her sister, Stephany, openly warned her that Sincere was playing a strategic game that would ultimately slow her down. Her mother, Zoila, delivered a devastating, viral evaluation in Spanish:

“Why are you going to give him a second chance, when there are so many waiting for their first?”

Even Sincere’s own family refused to defend his villa behavior. His father, Benjamin Sr., candidly condemned his son’s actions on camera. He expressed disappointment and stated he had raised Sincere with a moral compass that had clearly spun out of control during his time in paradise.

The Overwater Date Ultimatum to 3rd Place

Faced with overwhelming opposition from both families and the public, Sincere mounted a relentless campaign to earn Melanie’s forgiveness during the final stretch of the show. On their romantic overwater date, Sincere drew on his history as a track athlete. He promised complete personal evolution and unconditional commitment.

Melanie ultimately chose to forge ahead into the finals with him, but not without laying down a chilling ultimatum:

“You will never see me again. I’ll never have a conversation with you. I’ll literally be dead to you,” she warned, making it clear that a single slip-up outside the villa would mean the permanent end of their bond.

The couple ultimately secured third place in the grand finale. This proved that their fiery chemistry had resonated with a significant portion of the audience despite the constant controversy.

Post-Villa Reality: No Titles, Rebuilding Trust, and Long Distance

Outside the villa, Melanie and Sincere are handling their relationship on their own strict terms. In an interview with Vulture, Melanie revealed that while they are still actively in each other’s lives, they are not exclusive and are not officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Melanie explained that she is in no rush to slap a formal title on the relationship. Instead, she prefers to take their connection day by day without societal or reality TV pressure.

Since returning home, they have been spending quality time together on dates in Los Angeles. They are also navigating the hurdles of a long-distance setup.

When Host Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen pull them up to the couch during tomorrow night’s reunion, expect an in-depth dissection of their Movie Night clips and the harsh family feedback. Additionally, they will discuss how they plan to navigate a title-free future together in the real world.

The Love Island USA Season 8 Reunion airs tomorrow, August 31, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
