BAFTA TV Awards 2026 Host, Presenters, & Performers Lineup

The 2026 BAFTA TV Awards are almost here, and honestly? It already feels like one of those nights where something slightly unhinged (in the best way) is going to happen on stage. Between a new host stepping into the spotlight, a wildly stacked presenters lineup, and a couple of musical performances that feel more “mood” than “spectacle,” it seems like BAFTA is leaning into fun this year instead of playing it safe.

Truthfully, award shows live or die by their chaos factor, and this lineup has plenty of it.

The ceremony is set to air live on Sunday, May 10, 2026 via the BBC and BBCiPlayer in the UK. And celebrates the best in TV while also giving us a front-row seat to celebrity energy shifts, unexpected pairings, and at least one moment that will absolutely end up on social media within seconds.

Greg Davies is Hosting the 2026 BATFA TV Awards

This year’s host is Greg Davies, best known as the towering, deadpan chaos manager of “Taskmaster.” The show where he spends most of his time reacting to contestants like he’s personally exhausted by humanity.

He’s stepping in after, “The Traitors,” host Alan Cumming led the 2025 ceremony. And it seems like BAFTA is going in a very specific direction here: controlled chaos with a side of sarcasm.

Honestly, this is kind of perfect casting.

Davies has that rare ability to make everything feel like a joke he’s already slightly over… in the funniest way possible. His comedy style is all about timing, reactions, and that signature “I cannot believe I am dealing with this” energy that works insanely well in live award show settings.

And let’s be real, live TV needs someone who can roll with anything. Mistakes? Fine. Awkward pauses? Even better. A winner speech that goes off the rails? Even better still.

It seems like BAFTA looked at him and went, “yeah, he can handle it.” Which is both comforting and slightly concerning; but mostly exciting.

The Presenters Lineup is Doing the Absolute Most

The presenters list this year is basically a full pop culture crossover event. It seems like BAFTA just opened the casting doors and said, “who wants in?” and honestly… it worked.

According to the BAFTA’s Instagram post (seen above), we’ve got comedy royalty like Alan Carr, Judi Love, Sue Perkins, Mel Giedroyc, Nick Mohammed, Richard Osman, and Roisin Conaty. Then there’s dramatic heavyweights like Lennie James, Rory Kinnear, and Paapa Essiedu bringing that serious TV credibility. And because this show refuses to stay in one lane, you’ve also got Rick Astley and Tinie Tempah casually showing up like it’s totally normal.

Let’s be real; it’s the mix that makes this fun. These are the kinds of combinations that shouldn’t work on paper but absolutely will on stage. Like when someone forgets a line or Rick Astley gets introduced next to a prestige drama star.

Also, seeing Adam Scott in the group? Yep, that’s going to be a moment for anyone still emotionally recovering from “Severance.”

The Performances Are Simple & It Works

So far, the BAFTA’s Instagram has announced performances from Cat Burns and AURORA. And it’s not clear if more will be added. If this is the full lineup, it feels intentionally stripped back in a way that actually stands out.

Cat Burns brings that emotional, storytelling energy that hits you a little too hard when you’re not expecting it. AURORA, on the other hand, feels like stepping into a dream sequence where everything is glowing and slightly otherworldly.

It’s not overdone, it’s not trying too hard; it’s just vibes. And honestly, that might be exactly what this awards show needs between speeches, winners, and the occasional chaotic presenter moment.

And at least one of these performances is going to end up clipped everywhere online within minutes. That’s basically a guarantee at this point.

Between Greg Davies steering the ship and a presenters list that reads like a multiverse crossover episode. Plus performances that lean into atmosphere over spectacle, the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards are setting up to be a genuinely fun time.
