‘Jeopardy!’ Host Ken Jennings Excitedly Details New Adventure With His Son

Ken Jennings might be best known for hosting “Jeopardy!” But at the end of the day, he’s just a regular family man. He and his wife, Mindy, are the parents of son Dylan, born in 2002, and daughter Caitlin, born in 2006.

As his children explore adulthood, Jennings is looking for ways to stay involved in their lives. Now, he’s opening up about a new adventure he and Dylan are going on together.

Ken Jennings & His Son Want To Visit All the MLB Parks

Ken Jennings doesn’t often post about his children on social media. But behind the scenes, they’re always planning fun family outings. Ken often posts photos and videos he took at sporting events.

In a new interview, the “Jeopardy!” host detailed plans he and his son Dylan have.

“I’m trying to see all the Major League ballparks with my son,” Ken Jennings shared with PEOPLE. “And so a lot of these are places I’ve never been, and so now I’m like, ‘Hey, I have trivia about Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. I know about the fountains and the waterfalls now.'”

The game show host noted that he’s “accumulating Major League ballpark trivia at an alarming rate.”

Last May, Ken Jennings posted a photo of himself and Dylan at a Seattle Mariners game.

“The lucky Mariners earrings might be heading for an 0-1 start,” he captioned the Instagram post.

The Game Show Hosts Compares Fatherhood to Being a Cruise Director

The pandemic certainly put a strain on families around the world. Like any other family, the Jennings bunch had to adapt and parent two teenagers.

Even though it was a challenge, Ken Jennings recalled stepping up and doing whatever was necessary for his family.

“Parenting is always a moving target: you’re really just responding to the current needs of the kid, which might be different [needs] than six months ago,” Jennings told Yahoo! in 2021. “So it’s a lot of listening, because the kid will tell you what you need — but it’s not going to be what you expect and it’s not what you remember you needing at their age.”

“For me, being a dad is a lot like being a cruise director, being the smiling face of the family,” the game show host added, recalling how difficult parenting became when the pandemic hit and his children’s schools closed. “Like, here are the activities, here’s the good attitude (despite everything) — a rah-rah Scoutmaster type. That’s not who I am at my core, but as a dad, you kind of have to turn into that. Luckily I had over a decade of experience of it when the pandemic hit. That’s when you need your best cruise director’s affect and attitude.”

Even now in 2026, Ken Jennings’ children come to him for all the answers.

“Weirdly, [my job] gives me a bit of a parenting advantage,” he shared with PEOPLE in a recent interview. “Like, if you’re the host of ‘Jeopardy!’ your kids will believe you when you try to parent. And it drives my wife bonkers. [She’ll be] like, ‘I just said that same thing. Why are you believing Dad?’ And they’re like, ‘Host of ‘Jeopardy!'”
