Martial arts madman Chuck Norris turns 86 years old on March 10, 2026 โ and weโre here to celebrate the legendโs remarkable career over the last 50 years!
Norris, who has earned his black belt in karate, taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo, was the first man in 4,500 years to earn an 8th degree Black Belt Grand Master in taekwondo in 1997, according to The United States Fighting Federation, an organization founded by Norris. He used his extraordinary skills to train Hollywood stars in his craft while also working as a highly sought-after actor for five decades, establishing himself as one of the baddest, most powerful forces of nature.
Chuck Norris as an Icon in Film
Much like fellow martial artist legend Bruce Lee, who recruited Norris to star opposite him in โThe Way of the Dragonโ in 1972, Norrisโ prominence in acting was rooted in an ability that not many others bestowed, making him a unique powerhouse in casting.
From 1993 to 2001, Norris starred in the CBS series โWalker, Texas, Ranger,โ where he played the role of a former United States Marine, martial arts instructor and Texas Ranger โ a role perfected just for him. Through the show’s ongoing success, Norris was able to leverage his name and physical capabilities for years to come.
While Norris is well-known for his role in the CBS series, he took on many roles in the years leading up to his mainstay. As a United States Air Force veteran, who served between 1958 and 1962, many of Norrisโ roles in film emulated his devoted service, his IMDb reported.
Some of those roles include โMissing in Actionโ (1984), โInvasion U.S.A.โ (1985) and โThe Delta Forceโ (1986). One of Norrisโ most critically acclaimed roles in film is the action thriller โCode of Silenceโ (1985).
Chuck Norris to Star in 2026 Film ‘Zombie Plane’
Norrisโ last major movie roles are in the 2012 action film โThe Expendables 2,โ the science fiction film โAgent Reconโ (2024) and the upcoming Austrian action comedy โZombie Plane,โ slated to premiere in 2026, according to his IMDb.
In addition to his martial arts prowess and acting career, Norris is a New York Times bestselling author, who has written many books on philosophy, exercise, martial arts, conservative politics and Christian western fiction, Better World Books reported.
