Harrison Ford Teases Major Career Move

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford has hinted that he may be moving closer to retirement after recent remarks at a panel to promote “Shrinking.” The “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” actor has previously rejected the idea of giving up working but his new comments tease that he may be more willing to call it a day after having so much success with the television series.

Ford made the comments while appearing at a panel to discuss “Shrinking” at Apple TV’s inaugural press day at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar. The 83-year-old was asked by moderator Ashley Nicole Black what deep questions he has asked himself since joining the show.

In a response recorded by The Hollywood Reporter, Ford said, “Where do you go from here? The kind of work that we’re able to do is remarkable given the tools we have to work with, and the notion that lies behind this series.”

He then added, “And if it was all over here, that would be sufficient. This has been a different kind of job for me, and I’ve been doing this for a long time.”

“This is very special and it really nurtures me and makes me feel like what we’re doing has value and importance. I look for that in my life and I’m happy to have found it here.”

The remarks suggest that the veteran actor would be more than happy to finish his career with his role in “Shrinking.”

The series, which was created by and stars Jason Segel, sees Ford portray therapist Dr Paul Rhoades. The character is a senior colleague to Segel’s Jimmy Laird and is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. It is currently in its third season and a fourth has been greenlit on Apple TV+.

This isn’t the first time that Ford has addressed his retirement. He had previously revealed that he didn’t have any plans to stop acting and would continue as long as he could.

When asked if he had plans to retire, Ford responded, “That’s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor. They need old people, too, to play old people’s parts.”

While promoting Season 2 of his “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” earlier this year, the actor was asked when he would give up acting and he said, “When you forget my name” and later said that he “[hasn’t] thought about it” when asked a similar question in another interview.
