SEE INSIDE: Keanu Reeves Rented Linda Evangelista’s NYC Loft Which Is Now Selling for $7.99 Million

Keanu Reeves needed a place to crash in New York City while performing “Waiting for Godot” on Broadway. That’s why he ended up renting an apartment from supermodel Linda Evangelista. Now, the loft is on the market for $7.99 million.

A “stylish Chelsea penthouse,” according to the New York Post’s Gimme Shelter, sources told Gimme that Reeves was paying around $45,000 per month to live in the home that he shared with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant.

Gimme notes that the pair “managed to keep their residential rental digs under the radar — even as Grant shared photos about how much fun she and Reeves are having in the Big Apple — including a recent date night on the rink in front of Rockefeller Center’s glittering Christmas tree.”

The New York City apartment that Reeves temporarily called home was bought by Evangelista in 2001 for $1.4 million, according to city records (via the Post). It was previously up for sale in April for $8.19 million.

Located at 522 W. 22nd St. in a building that includes six floors and an elevator, the residence is described by the Post as a “chic loft” that is also a “sprawling penthouse.”

Spanning 4,022 square feet, the home features four bedrooms — meaning three of the bedrooms can be used for family, as a guest room or an office — and two bathrooms.

The abode also boasts polished concrete floors and tall ceilings that reach up to 13 feet high at some points.

“The open eat-in chef’s kitchen features handsome exposed brick,” according to the Post. “There’s also a great room with three exposures, skylights and a fireplace. A corner main bedroom suite comes with High Line views, a spa-like bath and a dressing room with six floor-to-ceiling custom closets.”

Keanu & Alexandra Also Share His Hollywood Hills Home

When Reeves and Grant aren’t in New York, they might be found at the actor’s home in the Hollywood Hills. The star bought the house in 2003 for $5 million, according to the Post.

A 5,600-square-foot residence, Realestate.com.au notes that “the two-bedroom pad has a three-car garage” and a “swimming pool complete with a barbecue/lounging area.”

The home is located in the “Bird Streets” neighborhood. As you might have guessed, the streets are named after birds such as Blue Jay Way, Oriole Drive and Skylark Lane, according to RubyHome Luxury Real Estate.

“Since the turn of the century, the Bird Streets have become one of the most desirable areas in Los Angeles,” according to RubyHome. “The appeal of the neighborhood can be attributed to sweeping views, convenient location, and bold architecture. The Bird Streets neighborhood is not far [from] major studios and very close [to] world-class entertainment, dining, and shopping found in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and along the Sunset Strip.”

Beyond that, RubyHome notes that “[a]s young Hollywood A-listers flocked to the area for unobstructed city and ocean views, people took notice. More architectural jewel boxes popped up along the hillside as developers improved lots in an effort to find the next high-profile celebrity buyer.”
