Forensic Pathologist Shares Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Theory

Nancy Guthrie has been missing for nearly two weeks, and evidence continues to be collected and analyzed.

Early in the search, investigators discovered blood drops on the front porch of Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, home. Forensics later determined that the blood belonged to the 84-year-old victim.

Forensic Pathologist Analyzes Guthrie Case

A forensic pathologist named Dr. Michael Baden sat down with Fox News Digital to share his theory on the blood found at Guthrie’s home.

“Nancy Guthrie is bleeding from some area, either the hands or the face,” he told the outlet on Thursday, February 12. “The nature of the blood spots with little pale centers or donut shapes is typical for drops that come from the nose or mouth, because they’re mixed with air.”

He added, “That means she’s coughing up blood or dripping from the nose. Otherwise, there would be a dripping from a cut from above, possibly from the hands or face.”

The fact that Nancy was unable to stop her blood from spilling onto the porch was an ominous sign for Baden.

Baden added that the droplets “indicate that it did not occur by innocent means.”

“This blood dropped onto the porch area during an abduction,” he revealed. “They happened not in a normal, innocent way where it could be covered up or have iodine and bandages put on it.”

Investigators Release Details on Unknown Suspect

As the search for Nancy Guthrie nears its second week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Phoenix division released details on the person of interest in the case.

“The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack,” the FBI revealed on Thursday, February 12, explaining that the details of the suspect were “confirmed after a forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage.”

The information comes after photos and videos of a masked, armed individual were unearthed from Guthrie’s doorbell camera on the night of her abduction.

The man was seen wearing a ski mask and carrying a backpack as he approached Guthrie’s front door at 2:12 a.m. on February 1. He appears to tamper with the doorbell camera before using shrubbery to cover the lens.

The FBI increased its reward from $50,000 to $100,000 “for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
