Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, were among the star-studded crowd at the Giorgio Armani fashion show during Milan’s Fashion Week. Silva looked elegant in a strapless silver gown, adorned with swirls and beads. She paired the look with silver drop earrings. Gere wore a traditional black tuxedo and bow tie, his white combed back.

Richard Gere, 76, was a massive fan of Giorgio Armani, and his portrayal of wearing Armani suits in “American Gigolo” helped popularize the brand. “I don’t think I even owned a proper suit before I did ‘American Gigolo,” he told the Financial Times. “He probably taught the whole male world the joy of wearing a beautiful suit.”
Richard Gere’s Relationship with Armani began 40 Years Ago
Gere and Armani became acquainted while filming “American Gigolo” in 1980. The “Chicago” actor once claimed to Vanity Fair that he didn’t “know any other designer” besides Armani. And that, if he wasn’t wearing Armani, he was wearing Levi’s. When news spread that he’d died, Gere mourned the 91-year-old designer.
“Giorgio was certainly an original. An artist. A visionary of sorts,” Gere said in a statement after Armani passed away. I know there were those who he terrified because of his exacting nature. To me he was a supremely talented pussycat.”

“Goodbye, Giorgio,” Silva wrote. “You were elegance itself — charisma, discipline, and poetry stitched into every creation. Like a painter, you used fabric as your canvas, leaving us masterpieces of timeless beauty. To me, and to the world, you were more than fashion. You were inspiration, courage, and the reminder that simplicity holds the greatest power.”
“The light you leave behind will never fade,” she added. “Rest in eternal beauty, Maestro.”
The Couple is Balancing Their Time Between Spain and the U.S.
Gere and Silva began dating in 2014 and had a quiet wedding ceremony four years later. Earlier this year, the couple and their two sons moved to Spain, where Silva is originally from.
“My wife is Spanish,” Gere previously said on “The Tonight Show.” And she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid.” Five months later, Silva clarified their move in an interview with The Daily Mail.
“For a few years [we’ll live in Spain], and then come back,” Silva said. “But we’re always coming back. We’ll come back here in the summer because we have the kids at camp. We just have to balance our lives there and here.”
