Cosmo Allegretti, the puppeteer and voice of characters such as Grandfather Clock and Dancing Bear from the TV show Captain Kangaroo has passed away at the age of 86. On July 26th in Arizona, Allegretti died of emphysema.
According to People, some of the other characters Allegretti created include Bunny Rabbit, Mister Moose, Rollo the Hippopotamus, Miss Worm, Cornelius the Walrus, and Dennis the Apprentice.

Some people are confusing Allegretti with the actual “Captain Kangaroo”, Bob Keeshan, while others are setting the confusion straight.

Bob Keeshan died in 2004.
@KTVU Cosmo was not Captain Kangaroo. He was a character on the show. Bob Keeshan was the Captain.
