Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Ed Schlossberg, and the granddaughter of former President John F. Kennedy, passed away from cancer on December 30. She was 35. Her family is in mourning, and although there have been many tributes celebrating the beautiful life Tatiana lived, her cousin Tim Shriver’s tribute is one of the most heartbreaking.
A Heartbreakingly Beautiful Tribute for Tatiana Schlossberg
GettyOn January 5, the family held a memorial service for Tatiana at a New York City church, and on January 6, Shiver paid tribute to her with a touching post on X. “Yesterday, we said goodbye to Tatiana,” he wrote. “Heartbreak doesn’t begin to capture the sadness we feel. Our hearts are with Caroline and Ed and George and Josie and Eddie and Rose and Jack. She had so much more living to do.”
Shriver reflected on the qualities she shared with her mother and how she was “so smart and so funny,” and those she shared with her dad, “so thoughtful and so brilliant.” He also shared how she had faith.
He continued, “There is no sense to be found in this suffering. Only indescribable sadness and all of our faith. Her husband George asked us all to be part of keeping her alive by being playful and doing crossword puzzles (in under 5 minutes), being the best friend in the world, listening with kindness, speaking with truth, laughing hysterically, and so much more.” Shriver ended his beautiful message by promising to “carry her with us into this new year and for the years to come” and expressed his love for Tatiana.
In addition to Shriver’s words, he also posted two photos. One shows Tatiana as an adult, speaking and holding a microphone, and another shows her with her older sister, Rose, and younger brother, Jack. The other children in the photo appear to be Shriver’s five children, People reports.
The post has been flooded with loving messages.
Remembering Tatiana Schlossberg
The JFK Library Foundation announced Tatiana’s death on Instagram. The statement read, “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.” It was signed by her loving family, “George, Edwin and Josephine Moran, Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose and Rory.”
Tatiana and physician George Moran had been married since 2017. They shared two young children, Edwin and Josephine Moran. Unlike Tatiana’s family, many of whom have chosen a career in politics, she chose a different path and became an environmental journalist.
