The cause of death for Victoria Jones, the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones, has been revealed.
On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco, California, announced that Victoria died due to “toxic effects of cocaine,” People reported. The medical examiner’s office ruled the 34-year-old’s death an “accident.”
Victoria died on Jan. 1 at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel, TMZ reported. Authorities were alerted when a 911 call was made for a medical emergency. When the San Francisco Police and San Francisco Fire Department responded to the call after 2:00 AM, they found Victoria deceased at the scene.

GettyAfter Victoria passed away, TMZ released audio from the 911 call placed that night. At the time, the medical emergency was described as a “code 3 for the overdose, color change.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, color change due to drug toxicity is referred to as “cyanosis,” which happens when “your skin, lips and/or nails turn a bluish tone. It occurs when your blood lacks the oxygen it needs to reach the different tissues in your body.”
Law enforcement sources reported to TMZ that when first responders found Victoria, they saw her with a blue tinge on both her lips and fingernails — immediately suspecting an overdose. According to TMZ, sources told them that Victoria had used cocaine that evening while celebrating the New Year with a group of about five friends.
A Statement From Victoria Jones’ Family
GettyFollowing her death, Victoria’s family released a statement on behalf of their loved one. “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you,” the statement said, TMZ reported.
In a separate statement given to Page Six from the Fairmont Hotel, a representative expressed sympathy for Victoria’s family.
“We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on Jan. 1, 2026,” the hotel representative said. “Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time. The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
Before Victoria’s adulthood, she followed in her dad’s acting footsteps. According to her IMDb, she appeared in one of Tommy Lee’s most acclaimed films, “Men in Black II,” and also had a small role in the hit TV show “One Tree Hill.”
Although she did not pursue acting long-term, Victoria appeared at several red carpet events with her famous dad, the NYP reported.
Before her death, Tommy Lee made a dedicated attempt to help his daughter by issuing a court-ordered conservatorship to handle her personal and health decisions in light of continued troubles. Court documents obtained by People reveal docket entries from Marin County Superior Court on Aug. 7, 2023, when Tommy Lee filed his petition, which was also extended at a later date.

My son that is 37 I spent into rehab three times lost his family his wife and four children due to his addiction and yet he’s still in the addiction. He will probably be homeless soon because I cannot take care of his problem because he will not take care of it himself.
