Tommy Lee Jones is a legend in the entertainment industry. Now a spotlight has been shone on his private life, specifically his family, after the tragic passing of his daughter, Victoria Jones. This is everything to know about the actor’s two children, whom he shares with his second wife, photographer Kimberlea Cloughley.
Victoria Jones
GettyVictoria was the youngest daughter of Jones and Cloughley. She was born in 1991, and her death was reported on January 1, when she was found dead in a San Francisco hotel, USA Today reports. She was 34. The official cause of death has not been made public.
On January 2, her heartbroken family released a statement to the media. “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” the family shared in a statement, People reports. “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”
Victoria had a brief career as an actress, with several credits, including “Men in Black II” in 2002, an episode of the hit series “One Tree Hill,” and the 2005 film “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.” The latter film was her biggest role and was directed by her father.
“She had to get up at 5 a.m. for her part,” Jones said in a 2006 interview with The New Yorker about his daughter. “One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed. I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge. So I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time.”
Victoria also made headlines for her arrests, having been arrested twice within a year, People reports.
Austin Jones
GettyAustin Jones was born on November 9, 1982, and was almost ten years older than his sister. Their parents were married from 1981 to 1996.
Austin has acting credits, but he is also a musician. Notably, he worked on the 2014 film “The Homesman” with his father. In an interview with Movies.ie, Tommy Lee discussed the experience. “We had a music supervisor who went through the archives of 19th-century music that would have been expected in that part of the world,” he said. “That music supervisor, I am happy to say, is my son, Austin Leonard Jones, who is the banjo player on the barge at the end of the movie.”
Austin and Victoria were both incredibly private people who lived their lives out of the spotlight, despite their father’s fame.
