The Comic Con appearance came just before new developments in her divorce with actor Aaron Phypers hit the news. Richards’ 53-year-old ex is requesting that a judge order the actress to let him into their joint accounts, because he says he needs immediate access to $150,000. That home is a Calabasas rental he formerly shared with Richards. He and Richards jointly owe $120,000 in back rent on the place because both their names are on the lease, per the report. he also says he needs $10,000 to pay his attorney.
Richards argued in prior filings that she isn’t responsible for rent on the place because she says he moved out years ago. However, Phyper alleges she left behind 15 rescue dogs and “a substantial amount of personal belongings.”

As fans know, Richards’ husband, Aaron Phypers, filed for divorce from her on July 7, 2025. The pair had been married since September 2018. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup.
