As anticipation builds for the upcoming reunion of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Sutton Stracke is offering a perspective that may catch longtime viewers off guard — particularly when it comes to her evolving relationship with Erika Jayne.
After seasons of tension, skepticism, and difficult conversations, Sutton revealed that the two are now in a much better place — a shift she admits even surprised her.
Sutton Calls Erika a ‘Really Good Friend’
Looking back on how things have changed, Sutton described a more cautious, intentional approach that ultimately helped rebuild their dynamic.
“I wasn’t quite sure how this was going to go. I think we both treated each other with kid gloves and walked in gently to the friendship with one another. It has paid off.”
She went on to share a notably warm assessment of Erika — a stark contrast to earlier seasons.
“We really got to know each other well. We enjoy each other’s company and that’s been really fun. She’s smart and she’s actually a really good friend. I loved getting to know that side of her. It’s been really nice. So that was a big surprise for me, but also a really joyful one.”
For fans who watched their relationship unravel in past seasons, the update signals a meaningful shift — and suggests a different energy heading into the reunion.
What to Expect at the Reunion
While Sutton remained relatively measured about the reunion overall, she did offer insight into where much of the focus will land.
According to Sutton, ongoing tensions between Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley continue to play a central role.
“Well, they made it out alive,” Sutton noted. “Like, everybody that’s been watching this show, it’s been hard for me to watch their relationship. It’s never fun to watch anybody’s relationship go through this.”
Their dynamic has been one of the defining storylines of the season, and Sutton’s comments suggest it remains a key topic as the cast sits down to unpack everything.
She also pointed to newcomer Amanda Frances as another figure who finds herself under scrutiny, both from the group and from viewers.
A More Grounded Season for Sutton
Unlike previous years, Sutton said she approached both the season and the reunion from a much calmer, more grounded place — something that shaped how she engaged with the group.
“I was chiming in. I think because I wasn’t in the hot seat, I wasn’t as nervous,” she explained. “I think all season, I’ve just been relaxed, and I’m just in a different place. I’m like, ‘OK, well, let’s talk about it in a very calm manner.’”
That mindset didn’t happen overnight. Following the previous season, Sutton made a conscious decision to step back and reset.
“After last season and kind of that abrupt end, I needed to take a break and reset a lot of things,” she shared. “I had to go back to my roots and just focus on that. I wanted to celebrate my children… I was getting ready for this next era of my life.”
Reflection and Growth Heading Into the Reunion
As she reflects on the season, Sutton framed her experience as one rooted in growth — both personally and within the group dynamic.
“I think I proved to myself that if you take your time, if you listen first, take a breath and then speak smartly, and say what you need to say, instead of being reactionary, it really does work most of the time,” she said.
With shifting friendships, unresolved tensions, and new dynamics still unfolding, the RHOBH reunion is expected to deliver plenty of conversation. But if Sutton’s update is any indication, at least one of the show’s most complicated relationships may no longer be as fractured as it once seemed.
