Fans Rally Around Beloved Reality Star After Emotional End-Stage Liver Disease Revelation

Reality Star Sam Vanderpump has shared a heartbreaking health update. The 28-year-old reality star revealed on “Made In Chelsea” that he has been diagnosed with end-stage liver disease and may only have a few years to live without a transplant.

“We had a call from the doctors and I’ve got end-stage liver disease,” Lisa Vanderpump’s nephew, Sam, said during the October 27 episode, as reported by US Weekly. “There is no hope of my liver getting better, and said, ‘I wouldn’t be having this call with you if I thought you could make it through the next four or five years.’ They’re sending me for a liver transplant assessment.”

Sam said he’s choosing to remain positive: “The way I look at it, I’m healthy now. Hopefully, I remain healthy all the way up until one day they’ll give me a call, and I’ll go in for surgery. And then I wake up and I’ll be healthier.”

Inside the Health Scare That Nearly Claimed His Life

Sam’s diagnosis follows a terrifying health emergency last December, when he was rushed to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital after his fiancée, Alice Yaxley, called an ambulance. What began as flu-like symptoms turned into liver and kidney failure caused by a genetic condition, followed by life-threatening sepsis.

“I got an infection due to a genetic disease I’ve got, which led to sepsis, and it ended up quite bad,” Sam told OK! Magazine. “It was a close call. I could have died.”

That experience, he said, “brought us very, very close,” referring to his fiancée. “I walked out of that, looking at Alice and thinking, ‘This is the girl I want to marry.’”

Sam, I wish you all the best!”

Love, Resilience & New Beginnings

Sam and Alice, 24, got engaged in March after six months of dating. In September, the couple shared even more joyful news: they’re expecting their first child. “Life is full of surprises, but this is the best one yet,” they captioned a joint Instagram post.

Lisa Vanderpump, 65, appeared on the October 20 episode of Made In Chelsea as the couple broke the news of the pregnancy. “This is great,” Lisa told them. “I couldn’t be happier. I’m so happy for you.”

Sam is the son of Lisa’s late brother Mark Vanderpump, who died by suicide in 2018 at age 59. During their emotional conversation, Lisa reflected on her brother’s memory and how proud he would be of Sam today.

“He’d be so proud of you now, and so happy,” she said, as per US Weekly. “It has pained us every day since he took his life. We’ll never get over that. That was the worst.”

Despite his diagnosis, Sam remains determined to stay strong. He now serves as an ambassador for the UK Sepsis Trust, raising awareness about sepsis prevention and organ donation.

Fans have flooded social media with heartfelt messages of love and encouragement: united in support of his courage, resilience, and hope for a second chance at life.

  1. Milk thistle may help regenerate the liver. Dandelion may help detox the liver. Taurine may help may bile which helps detox the liver and help with fat to be digested. Lecithin may help defat the liver. No: gluten/dairy/soy/sugar/GMO corn, soy, canola oil may help. Low sunlight/Vit D3 may trigger gluten issues. Hair test to see good minerals/heavy metals on Amazon may help. Gluten is in wheat/barley/rye…oats/corn/rice. Rice is low in gluten. Wild rice/buckwheat have no gluten. There are many ways to help the liver/health.
