‘Supernanny’ Jo Frost, 55, Is ‘Unrecognizable’ as She ‘Debuts’ Fabulous Gray Hair

Jo Frost, 55, who found fame as the no-nonsense, child-wrangling, family-saving “Supernanny,” was known to appear onscreen in the kind of outfit that you might expect from a proper British caretaker. With a undeniably professional and tailored skirt suit, minimalistic glasses and brown hair pulled back in a neat updo, she was the perfect image of the ultimate nanny.

Nowadays, she looks a little (or a lot) different. Just as lovely as you remember, the former reality TV star is now embracing gray hair and she looks absolutely fabulous.

Jo Looks Amazing with Long Gray Hair

Frost took to Instagram recently to share a video of herself that gave fans a look at her new hair color.

“Frost looked unrecognisable in a new video she shared on Wednesday, 17 years after her show Supernanny ended,” according to The Daily Mail, while adding that “[t]he nanny, 55, rose to fame on the Channel 4 show where she used tough love to help parents around Britain discipline their unruly children.”

In fact, the original “Supernanny” was so popular, that it sparked other similar shows around the world, including one in the United States which also featured Frost.

The Mail also notes that in Frost’s lastest social media post, she “debuted her new look in the Instagram clip, which appeared to be filmed at her home where she was dressed casually in a grey jumper.”

Gray Hair Is Not as Taboo as It Used to Be for Celebrites

Although not everyone in the entertainment industry is ready and willing to let their gray hair grow out, embracing silver strands isn’t as taboo as it once was in show business.

“Every day more and more celebrities with gray hair are saying no to covering up their natural color,” Glamour notes. “Gray hair, once a sure sign of aging that seemingly didn’t appear on famous women, is quickly becoming embraced by all kinds of celebrities.”

That includes Andie MacDowell, Meryl Streep, Salma Hayek, Katie Holmes, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jamie Lee Curtis. That’s not to mention Tia Mowry, Allison Janney and Jane Fonda.

It seems clear that, as Vogue points out, while “[i]n the past, a female star with even a hint of gray hair was a rare sight on the red carpet,” some stars are “[n]ow, many are making it a focal point of their look, embracing silver with confidence and ease.”
