Billy Flynn has exited “Days of Our Lives” after over a decade of playing Chad DiMera on the hit Peacock soap. The beloved actor’s final episode finally aired this week, due to the show’s advanced filming schedule. Chad left town, making way for recast Conner Floyd to debut as Chad this spring.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Star Billy Flynn Is ‘Excited’ For New Chad
In just a few short weeks, Chad will have a new face, and Flynn can’t wait to see Floyd in the role. The two worked together briefly on “The Young and the Restless” last summer before Chance (Floyd) was killed off, allowing the actor to take on his new role on “Days of Our Lives.”
Flynn gushed over Floyd stepping in to play Chad during an interview with TV Insider.
“I’m really excited to see what he does with it. He’s handsome, and such a sweet guy and I think that he was the perfect choice to take over that part,” the soap star expressed.
Being a recast in the soap world is never an easy thing, something Flynn knows all too well, having done it on the hit Peacock soap as Chad and “The Young and the Restless” as Cane. That’s one reason why Flynn is championing Floyd, but it’s also because he feels it’s time for fans and Chad to move on.
“I’m looking forward to April, when he can actually start. I think it’ll be good for everybody and let the character move on,” Flynn stated.
In April, Floyd will debut as Chad, and Flynn plans to be watching to cheer on his former co-star.
Chad will always have a special place in Flynn’s heart. However, these days, he’s looking to his future on the hit CBS soap.
Billy Flynn Doubles Down on ‘The Young and the Restless’
Last year, Flynn shocked soap fans when he decided to join “The Young and the Restless,” leaving the hit Peacock soap behind after more than a decade as Chad. The actor’s having the best time on the CBS soap playing Cane, who’s drastically different than Chad.
Flynn admitted the change has been good for him and that he has no plans to switch things up again career wise.
“When I first started at Young and Restless, if you would have asked me to sign for the next 40 years. I would do that. It’s been such a gift, especially with a family,” he shared.
The soap star compared his new job to winning the lottery, further proving that Flynn is very happy at his new soap home.
