“General Hospital” star Carolyn Hennesy has had enough of fake news about her health and status on the show.
Hennesy revealed that there have been malicious reports that her leg was amputated following a double surgery. There were also claims that she’s leaving the soap due to her condition.
In an Instagram post, the Diane Miller portrayer set the record straight, warning fans about the misleading clickbait reports.
“Kats n’ Kittens… I’m still very much bipedal!” Hennesy wrote. “That was fake news! But I did love certain aspects of it… I think they captured the character of Diane very clearly and very lovingly.”
Last week, Hennesy confirmed that her second leg surgery was a success and that she’s already recovering.
“Second surgery was a success! Thank you for all the love and support!” she wrote at the time. “Finally able to go home with my animals.”
Carolyn Hennesy Denies Leaving ‘General Hospital’
Hennesy also addressed rumors that she’s leaving “General Hospital.” In the same post, the actress denied these claims, reiterating that she’s here to stay.
“And as for me leaving the show: they’re gonna have to cart me out feet first from that sound stage,” Hennesy added. “Diane is a permanent resident of Port Charles! Much love to all for the tremendous showing of support.”
Fans & Co-Stars React
Shortly after Hennesy’s post, fans and co-stars alike took to the comments to share their thoughts.
“General Hospital” star Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins) wrote, “ Aw, you’ve arrived! Welcome to the big leagues, sister. I was recently in a fistfight on set, and then, DEAD. FYI, rumors of our mishaps and/or demise have been greatly exaggerated.”
A fan commented, “I was about to say…not Carolyn one leg wouldn’t stop her anyway!! Glad you’re not leaving!”
Someone added, “She can still come back to work with a prosthetic leg. No worries. I believe she will still look sexy.”
Another chimed in, “What a horrible horrible thing to have someone post – sorry Carolyn – you are ‘GH’ royalty.”
A fan also shared, “Some people are just so incredibly mean to say something like that. We love you, Carolyn and can’t wait for you to return to work. We miss you. Feel better soon.”
So far, there’s no word on when Hennesy will return to the show following her surgery.
Hennesy first took on the role of Diane Miller on “General Hospital” in 2007, and her performance has since earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations for Supporting Actress.
