Sylvester Stallone’s eldest daughter, Sophia Stallone, has a lot to celebrate after turning 30 and saying yes to forever with boyfriend Michael Sheehan.
Sophia announced her engagement on Friday, Aug. 28, sharing a carousel of photos from the romantic proposal on Instagram. The sweet photos showed the newly engaged couple surrounded by candles, white roses and flower petals as they celebrated the big moment together.
In one photo, Sophia and Sheehan embraced while kneeling among the flowers, while another showed the couple sharing a kiss as Sophia gave followers a closer look at her diamond engagement ring. They also posed together on a balcony with a nighttime city skyline behind them.
Sophia kept her announcement short and sweet, captioning the photos, “forever with my best friend ♾️.”
Sophia’s younger sisters, Sistine Stallone, 28, and Scarlet Stallone, 24, were quick to celebrate the couple in the comments.
“YAYYYAYY MY FAVORITE PEOPLE!!!!! Crying! So happy😭🩷I love you both!!!💍❤️,” Sistine wrote.
Scarlet was just as excited for her big sister, commenting, “THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FIANCÉES!!!!!!!”
Sophia Stallone’s Engagement Came With Another Big Celebration
Sophia’s engagement arrived around another special occasion: her milestone 30th birthday.
According to HELLO! Magazine, Sophia turned 30 on Aug. 27, shortly before announcing that she and Sheehan were engaged.
Sheehan got down on one knee as part of the romantic proposal setup, which included an elaborate display of flowers and candles. Sophia wore a fitted white mini dress with strappy heels for the occasion, while her fiancé wore a blue-gray shirt and cream pants.
The couple also celebrated the happy news with Sophia’s famous parents, Stallone and Jennifer Flavin. Photos from the occasion showed the pair posing alongside the newly engaged couple as Sophia displayed her new ring. Paris Hilton was among the other familiar faces to congratulate Sophia, commenting, “Congratulations love.”
Sophia is the oldest of Stallone and Flavin’s three daughters. They also share Sistine and Scarlet. Sophia has remained particularly close to her father over the years, with Flavin previously saying that the father and daughter think alike and even share some of the same mannerisms.
Sophia Previously Opened Up About Pressure to Settle Down
Sophia has been candid about dating, relationships and the expectations that can come with settling down.
Her love life was previously featured on her family’s Paramount+ reality series, “The Family Stallone.” During the show’s second season, Sophia confronted her mother about feeling pressure to get married and have children.
Her dad has also been open about just how protective he is when it comes to his daughters’ dating lives. During a 2023 appearance on “Today,” Stallone joked that he hoped Sophia and Sistine would become “spinsters” after the sisters said they were single.
Sophia and Sistine have also talked about their father’s ability to size up their potential partners. Sophia previously admitted Stallone has a pretty good track record when it comes to his opinions about the men they date, saying, “He’s actually always right.”
Outside of the family reality show, Sophia and Sistine previously co-hosted the “Unwaxed” podcast, where they regularly discussed relationships and other parts of their personal lives. Sophia also graduated from the University of Southern California in 2019 with a degree in fashion and previously ran the digital Favorite Book Club on Instagram.
Now, after previously opening up about dating and the pressure she felt to settle down, Sophia is celebrating a new chapter on her own terms with Sheehan. Her engagement announcement summed up the happy news in just a few words: “forever with my best friend ♾️.”
