Nashville Funeral Home Shares Heartfelt Tribute To Dolly Parton As Family Gathers at Her Final Resting Place

Dolly Parton was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Carl Dean, in Nashville, as her beloved family gathered together to celebrate her legacy three days after her passing.

The legendary country singer was remembered as a  “global icon and humanitarian” in a heartfelt obituary shared by Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum.

“Dolly Parton [was] known to the world as a beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright, and author,” the obituary read. “A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family.”

“Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience. With a seven-decade career, she inspired multiple generations of artists and fans with her music and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact,” they continued.

The obituary also asked anyone wishing to pay tribute to Parton to post on Instagram and tag the singer’s handle, @dollyparton. They can also visit her website to learn more about her incredible life.

Dolly Parton’s Nephew and Head of Security, Bryan Seaver, Spotted At The Cemetary

Bryan Seaver, who is Parton’s nephew as well as her head of security, was the one who announced her passing in a video shared on Instagram on the singer’s page. He was one of the members of her family who were spotted at her Nashville burial site, Page Six reports.

The outlet further states that at the time of publishing, it’s “unclear whether the funeral took place Friday morning.” But her representative previously confirmed that a “small and private service” would be held for “immediate family.”

Parton died at the age of 80 on Tuesday, Aug. 25, after a brief battle with cancer.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” Seaver said in the Instagram video. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now.”

Dolly Parton’s Charitable Contributions Continue After Her Passing

Parton’s family asked that instead of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at www.imaginationlibrary.com.

This was one of the many charitable foundations that she had, with her reason for creating the Imagination Library being inspired by her father and his inability to read.

“Before he passed away, my Daddy told me the Imagination Library was probably the most important thing I had ever done,” she said in a note on her website. “I can’t tell you how much that meant to me because I created the Imagination Library as a tribute to my Daddy. He was the smartest man I have ever known but I know in my heart his inability to read probably kept him from fulfilling all of his dreams.

“Inspiring kids to love to read became my mission. In the beginning, my hope was simply to inspire the children in my home county but here we are today with a worldwide program that gives a book a month to well over 3 million children.”
