John Stamos Shares Sweet Letter From His ‘Hero’ Dave Coulier

John Stamos can’t help but get emotional after receiving a sweet letter from his good friend, Dave Coulier.

The actor, 62, just finished filming for the TODAY Show when he got the letter from his “Full House” co-star.

The show’s official Instagram page shared a clip of Stamos reading a handwritten message from Coulier.

“Dear John, I love you, and I hope that I get to see you soon,” Stamos read, recognizing Coulier’s handwriting. “We need to laugh and be really immature together. Love you, love you, love you. Your brother, Dave.”

A Beautiful Friendship

Stamos went on to gush about Coulier, admitting that reading his friend’s letter makes him emotional.

“I love this guy. I’m so proud of him,” Stamos said. “He’s doing so great and he’s such an inspiration to everybody. I love you, Dave. Let’s get together soon and laugh.”

Meanwhile, Coulier shared a fun story about Stamos during an interview on the TODAY show. The actor, who was diagnosed with cancer again, revealed that Stamos visited him after learning about the diagnosis.

However, Stamos had COVID at the time, so the two improvised a way to talk.

“We’re sitting like two fifth-graders at the end of the hallway. You know, like, walkie-talkies,” Coulier told the host. “We should have got, like, the two cups with a string. ‘Hey, John. I’m at the other end of the hall. Over.’ He’s just a brother and he just came to support me and my wife, Melissa.”

Stamos confirmed Coulier’s story in another interview, proving that not even COVID or cancer could come between their friendship.

“He is my hero,” Stamos told the TODAY Show. “He’s my number one inspiration,” Stamos told the TODAY Show.

John Stamos Says Dave Coulier is Doing ‘Great’

In the same interview, Stamos revealed that he was with Coulier not too long ago, adding that the actor is doing great and handling the situation like a pro.

“It sounds weird, but if anyone would have to go through this, he’s a good one because he can really inspire and talk to the world and show that he, you know, with goodwill and love, you can make it through,” Stamos pointed out.

In November 2024, Coulier revealed that he was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, per TODAY. After going through chemotherapy, Coulier’s cancer was gone.

However, seven months later, he was diagnosed with early-stage, P16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, a type of tongue cancer.
