A new trailer for “The Mandalorian & Grogu” has officially confirmed what many fans were hoping to see: Pedro Pascal’s face will appear in the upcoming “Star Wars” film. After three seasons of mostly helmeted screen time on Disney+, Din Djarin is going unmasked again — and the internet wasted no time reacting.
The extended preview, released Tuesday, offers a closer look at the big-screen continuation of “The Mandalorian,” which hits theaters May 22. At one point in the trailer, Mando appears to be captured by hostile Hutts who threaten both him and Grogu. During the tense moment, he is forcibly unmasked, revealing Pascal’s face.
For a character who has removed his helmet only a handful of times across the series, it is a notable shift. And fans noticed immediately.
Fans Joke About Pedro Pascal Being Everywhere
While many viewers were excited to see Pascal’s face in a galaxy far, far away, others leaned into humor about the actor’s seemingly nonstop presence across Hollywood.
“I’m honestly very surprised that Pedro Pascal was on set for this,” one fan joked.
“I wonder how much Pedro face time was in his contract lol,” another commented.
Others poked fun at Pascal’s packed résumé over the past few years, with one person writing, “how suddenly pedro pascal appeared in every lead characters in every popular series and movies including marvel films in last 3-4 years.”
One fan summed up the playful exhaustion best: “I haven’t seen Pedro Pascal in like an hour.”
Another added, “Good to see Pedro Pascal back on the screens again after his 48 hour hiatus.”
Still, many responses were simply celebratory. “PEDRO PASCAL IS BACK!! THIS IS THE WAY!!” one commenter wrote, referencing the Mandalorian creed.
A Big-Screen Return for ‘Star Wars’
The trailer marks a more substantial look at the film following a Super Bowl teaser that leaned more comedic than cinematic. The new footage showcases action sequences, bounty hunting missions and Grogu alongside Mando.
Per Deadline, the film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Pascal as Din Djarin, with Sigourney Weaver playing Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White voicing Rotta the Hutt. The story takes place after the fall of the Empire, with Imperial warlords still scattered throughout the galaxy as the New Republic recruits Mando and Grogu to help restore order.
Collider also notes that the film represents the franchise’s return to theaters, marking the first “Star Wars” feature since 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.” Instead of moving forward with a fourth season of the Disney+ series, Lucasfilm opted to bring the story to the big screen.
Whether fans are tuning in for Grogu, galactic chaos or simply more Pedro Pascal screen time, one thing is clear — as one excited viewer put it, “THIS IS THE WAY!!”
