The Amazing Race 2025 Premiere Schedule, What Time & Where to Watch

After “The Amazing Race” Season 37 wrapped up in May, with Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge taking the win, fans have been eagerly awaiting the new season. Well, good news: it’s finally here!

But what makes this season different from the 37 before it? And will there be anything that audiences have not seen before? These are all the details you need to know, including how to watch the show.

When to Watch ‘Amazing Race’ 38?

“The Amazing Race” Season 38 premieres on Thursday, September 25, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. After the premiere episode tonight, “The Amazing Race” will return to a Wednesday slot from October 1 at 9 p.m.

Where Is ‘Amazing Race’ 38 Filmed?

This season will be filmed in Europe, starting in Amsterdam. Other destinations will include Prague, Budapest, and Romania. Host Phil Keoghan revealed that the competition was headed to Europe for this season because it helped facilitate more footage that fans wanted to see.

“They want to see more foot races and people traveling on trains and more self-driving,” he told Parade on September 24, ahead of the season premiere. “By going on a European adventure, we were able to zero in on those elements of the race. There are more foot miles, more self-driving, planes, trains, and automobiles on this season than we have ever had before. Because they are not flying long distances to get around the world. It is concentrated in the biggest democracy in the world, which is in Europe. So it is a hotly contested race concentrated in Europe.”

What to Expect This Season

This season, fans will see 13 pairs of former “Big Brother” contestants and their travel companions compete for the $1 million prize. Audiences can expect some twists! Keoghan revealed that they will be bringing back “old challenges, like the Driver’s Seat.” He added that surprises are essential to keep viewers “on their toes” and interested in the show, after watching for 38 seasons.

The gameplay is also different because the cast is made up entirely of “Big Brother” alums. Knowing each other and having played against each other before added an interesting new dynamic to the show, and alliances were formed in different ways. “Normally, the alliances and connections happen later in the season because they have to get to know each other and then decide, ‘Oh, I want to work with this team or that team based on their strengths or weaknesses,’” Keoghan told Parade.
