5 Best ‘The Amazing Race’ Teams Eliminated Too Soon

For a show built on split-second decisions and high-pressure challenges, “The Amazing Race” has sent home plenty of teams who felt like they could have made it all the way to the end. Sometimes it’s a missed flight, a bad taxi driver, or one wrong turn that ends a promising run far earlier than expected. Over the years, these early eliminations have sparked endless fan debates. We compiled a list of five “The Amazing Race” teams that were eliminated too soon.

1. Tramel & Talicia (Season 3)

Tramel and Talicia entered season 3 of “The Amazing Race” with confidence, competitiveness, and a strong sibling dynamic. Everyone watching thought they had long-term potential.

Yes, Tramel was a little overconfident in their abilities.

They struggled on the first leg, and then a Detour took them out during the second leg of the race. They were the only team on the last ferry to the Roadblock, which led to their elimination. Many fans believe they could have settled into the rhythm of the race if they weren’t eliminated so soon.

2. Debbie & Bianca (Season 7)

Debbie and Bianca quickly stood out during season 7, winning the first leg of the race. Host Phil Keoghan even deemed them early favorites to win the whole season.

However, the lifelong friends made a huge error in the third leg of the race. They drove for over two hours in the wrong direction on the way to Argentina. This put them way behind most of the teams, but Susan & Patrick also had some navigational issues.

They battled neck-and-neck at the final Roadblock, but Debbie and Bianca ultimately fell short and were eliminated in ninth place.

3. Eric & Lisa (Season 15)

Eric and Lisa were more of the “what if” category, as they never even made it past the starting line for season 15. In a surprise elimination that season, this married couple failed to find the correct license plate during the starting line task before all the other teams and were eliminated.

While a lot of fans say it wasn’t fair to eliminate them before even getting started, some argue the biggest rule of “The Amazing Race” is to read all of the clue. Eric and Lisa didn’t, which is why they were eliminated.

4. Chester & Ephraim (Season 23)

Chester and Ephraim were former NFL teammates who appeared on season 23, so a lot of potential there. They did well in the first two legs of the race, actually winning the second leg of the race.

In the third leg of the race, a travel agent screwed them over. They were booked on a flight a day later than planned. When trying to fix the issue, they found a similar flight, but with two connections. They took the risk, but that ended up in flight delays, and they were nearly 24 hours behind the other teams.

The former teammates were eliminated in ninth place, and fans were angry that the travel agent lost it for them.

5. Kaylynn & Haley (Season 32)

Kaylynn and Haley became fan favorites during season 32. They were often at the back of the pack due to navigational issues or bad taxi drivers. However, they persevered and did it with positive attitudes, which is why the fans loved them.

Four times they checked-in last with Phil, but three of those four times were non-elimination legs of the race. However, the last one wasn’t, and the sisters were sent home in sixth place. Despite being saved three times, fans still thought their journey deserved more time.

So, which teams do you think were eliminated too soon on “The Amazing Race”?
