Excitement is starting to build around the upcoming 39th season of “The Amazing Race,” and CBS has just unveiled the the next batch of globetrotting adventurers.
This season introduces 13 new teams, including one comprising a two-time World Cup champion and her partner.
A New Twist
CBSPhil Keoghan returns to host, with this season kicking off in Vancouver.
Competitors in the new season will be traveling more than 25,000 miles, visiting 13 cities across five different continents.
The season will begin with a twist: For the first time in the history of “The Amazing Race,” there will be 13 express passes in play, with each team receiving one pass that they must make use by the end of the sixth leg of the journey.
“’Amazing Race’ fans continue to make it clear what they love most is seeing everyday Americans stepping outside their comfort zones to race around the world and complete extraordinary challenges in extraordinary places – a chance to vicariously experience our amazing planet through the eyes of compelling, relatable contestants,” says Phil Keoghan. “This season’s twists, including a new, unexpected reveal at the start line, as well as the return of some tried and tested classics, ramp up the importance of strategy. All this, along with a first-time visit to Albania, make for another thrilling race for $1 million.”
Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman
CBSKrieger is a two-time World Cup champion (US Women’s National Team, 2015 and 2019), Olympian (2016, Rio), Champions League winner (1. FFC Frankfurt, 2008) and NWSL Champion (Gotham FC, 2023).
Meanwhile, Lohman played professional football for the US Women’s National Team (USWNT), Washington Freedom, Philadelphia Independence, Boston Breakers and the Washington Spirit.
Ann-Marie Tejcek and Riley Tejcek
CBSA mother-and-daughter team from California, Ann-Marie Tejcek is a 56-year-old healthcare executive, while Riley Tejcek, 29, is a marine officer.
Anuar Tager and Andrea Tager Ballesca
CBSAnuar Tager, 58, is a developer, while his daughter Andrea Tager Ballesca, 25, is a medical student. Both live in Houston, Texas.
Cody Langlois and Jaime Tribo
CBSSiblings Cody Langlois — a 35-year-old civil engineer — and Jaime Tribo — a 33-year-old dietitian — hail from Los Angeles, California and Tinley Park, Illinois, respectively.
Conner Wilson and Garrett McGuire
CBSConner Wilson (27, media producer) and Garrett McGuire (27, engineer) are childhood friends. Both live in California, with Wilson residing in Loomis and McGuire in Rocklin.
Dafina and Saran Dunmore
CBSThese sisters from Chicago are also best friends. Dafina, 52, is a bond analyst and DJ. Saran, 51, is a personal trainer and founder of Kids Leading Kids.
Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby
