Gerry Turner, the first-ever “The Golden Bachelor,” opens up about life after reality TV fame in his new memoir “Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV.”
In one revealing chapter, Turner recounts a dinner with Kris Jenner and her daughter Kendall Jenner, who admitted she was a big fan of his Bachelor journey. While Kendall suggested that Turner had been flirtatious with her mom, Turner insists that nothing of the sort ever happened.

Gerry Turner opens up about his deeply personal journey from losing his first wife of 40 years to having his life transformed as the first-ever “The Golden Bachelor” in his new memoir, “Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV.”
With his rise to reality TV fame came unexpected moments, like dining at Kris Jenner’s home. In one chapter of his book, Turner recounts that night, which was later seen in a June 2024 episode of “The Kardashians.” The moment became a hot topic after Kendall Jenner claimed Turner was acting flirtatiously with her famous mom.
“Later, Kendall would suggest I had been flirting with her mom, but that’s inaccurate,” Turner wrote via People. “I was just drawn into her sphere of influence so quickly.”
During the episode, Kendall shared with producers, “Yes, he was commenting on her smile and her eyes and her energy. I’m like, I think we should leave, like, I don’t know!”
But, instead of flirting with Kris, Turner revealed that they had a “down-to-earth conversation” about hearing aids and Kris’ hip replacement. Turner also got to tour the momager’s famous dish room and met Kendall’s then-boyfriend, Bad Bunny.
Back in November 2023, while detailing the dinner with Entertainment Tonight, Turner recalled his conversations with Kris. “We kind of traded off. I got to spend an evening with her and I asked her if she would do a shoutout to women on the show — especially to Susan [Noles} whose kind of her look-alike,” he told the outlet. Turner added that hanging out with the famous family was “pretty cool.”
At the time of their dinner, Turner was already engaged to contestant Theresa Nist, but it was not yet televised.
Kendall Jenner Saw a Major Thing on Turner’s Phone That Gave Away His Winner
During the June episode of “The Kardashians” (via People), Kendall revealed that while she, Kris, and Turner went into the living room to watch his “Golden Bachelor” episode, she accidentally saw his phone log, which gave away his season’s winner as Nist.
“I saw things that I shouldn’t have seen,” she shared, telling her friend Hannah Cohen, who was also at the dinner, “I saw his phone! He called her like, five times… I saw his call log!”
“I know who wins, I think, I’m assuming, because I’ve seen some things that I shouldn’t have seen,” she said, later telling producers she saw Nist’s name on his phone. “I saw it and I felt like I was looking through a boyfriend’s phone, and I saw things I shouldn’t have seen. My heart dropped when I saw her name.”
Thankfully, both Kendall and Kris know how to keep a secret and did not spoil Turner’s “Golden Bachelor” ending. However, after a televised wedding special on January 4, 2024, Turner and Nist announced their split just three months later.
