On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Taylor Frankie Paul, who is currently starring on Hulu’s hit show, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” was announced as the next Bachelorette. Taylor appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with Alex Cooper, where she broke the exciting news.
“You are on ‘Call Her Daddy’ so we can officially announce that you are this season’s Bachelorette,” Cooper said to Taylor. “How are you feeling?”
“To be honest, surreal,” Paul responded. “It has not hit me. Right now, in this moment, I’m just thinking about it — it’s not real, it’s not real. I think it’s not going to be until the limo is pulling up, and meeting the people. In my head, I’m like ‘how is this happening?’”
Taylor is no stranger to the spotlight, having become a “MomTok” influencer along with starring in “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” And with that, she’s also been very open about her dating history.
So now that she’s set to embark on this new journey, let’s look back at some of her past relationships:
Tate Paul
Taylor married Tate in 2016, and the two had two children together: Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5. However, they split up after Taylor made a video detailing a “soft swinging scandal” that both she and Tate were involved in.
Tate has since remarried.
Dakota Mortensen
After her divorce from Tate, Taylor began dating Dakota Mortensen, but the two have not had an easy go of things. In February 2023, Taylor was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors, including assault, criminal mischief, and domestic violence in the presence of a child. She and Mortensen stayed together, and in September, the two announced that they were expecting their first child together.
Taylor and Mortensen welcomed their son, Ever, in 2024, remaining in an off-and-on relationship. But they officially broke up in early 2025.
During the episode of “Call Her Daddy,” where Taylor announced that she would be the next Bachelorette, she also revealed that she did not speak with Mortensen about this before signing on.
“I have not confirmed it with him. So I don’t know if he knows or if he knew I had the opportunity,” she explained. “So he’ll know Wednesday.”
She added that she thinks his reaction will be “probably sad.”
“If anything he says is real, I would say sad,” she continued. “He does know that I was dating and, you know, meeting people, so that we’ve already had that first hurt, I guess. I think that’s the hardest part is when you see their first dating or hookup or whatever it is. That’s gonna always take a toll no matter what.”

How can she be a Bachelorette with her past dismeanors and failed relationships. It is simply doomed to fail. What a waste of time for the audience. We will feel jilted just like she is doing to Morgensen.
Oops! Mortensen-poor guy.
