Ariana Grande Hints Upcoming Tour Could Be Her Last for ‘Long, Long Time’

Ariana Grande is preparing to give her fans an unforgettable experience with her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour, which she describes as potentially her final extended concert series for many years to come. The multi-talented performer and former “The Voice” coach shared her touring plans and creative evolution during a candid conversation on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast, revealing her thoughtful approach to balancing different artistic interests.

Grande’s announcement comes as she continues expanding her acting career while maintaining her connection to music through selective projects. The 32-year-old artist has been prioritizing roles that speak to her personally, including her starring turn as Glinda in the film adaptation of “Wicked.”

A Thoughtful Approach to Creative Balance

Grande explained her touring philosophy during her podcast appearance with Poehler, emphasizing the intentional nature of her decision. “The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,” she shared. “I don’t want to say anything definitive. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time.”

The artist expressed her commitment to making the tour special precisely because of its limited nature. “I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah!'” she explained.

The Eternal Sunshine tour will launch on June 6, 2026, in Oakland, California, and conclude on September 1 at London’s O2 Arena, where Grande will perform 10 shows. The tour will include stops across the United States and Canada, offering fans in select cities the opportunity to experience her live performance.

Grande’s decision stems from her recognition that stepping away from one art form can actually deepen her connection to it. As she explained to Poehler, “You are able to do better by that art form because you’re appreciative and really able to feel present in it.”

Grande has acknowledged that her pop career previously “took over” her life, leading her to prioritize learning to balance her diverse creative passions. “I just am feeling a lot more connected to myself and my art since I started doing different things,” she shared.

Expanding Creative Horizons

Beyond her touring plans, Grande is actively pursuing other acting projects. She’s recently completed filming “Focker In-Law,” the fourth installment of the “Meet the Parents” franchise, alongside stars like Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.

During her podcast conversation, Grande revealed some details about her character in the upcoming comedy. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but my character is a triathlete. I spent yesterday doing burpees and high knees with Robert De Niro. I’m like, ‘What is this movie? What are we doing?’ But I’m having a blast. It’s really special,” she shared.

The experience of working with veteran actors has been particularly meaningful for Grande. “I’m so inspired by my castmates,” she noted. “Beanie Feldstein is incredible. I love her so much. She’s so funny, so wonderful.”

Grande has been choosing projects based on personal interest rather than commercial potential. She stressed the importance of “chasing things that feel very right in the moment, even if it’s spontaneous and something different.”

Her evolution as an artist includes returning to her theatrical roots while maintaining her musical identity. “I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theatre and comedy,” she explained.

The success of “Wicked,” in which she stars opposite Cynthia Erivo, has reinforced her belief in following creative impulses. The film has earned critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including a Grammy nomination for their collaboration on “Defying Gravity.” The anticipated sequel, “Wicked: For Good,” releases in theaters on November 21.

  1. I’m so pleased that Ms. Grande is stretching her talents in many different artful avenues. She is very special. I’ve not ever been able to see her in concert or see the Wicked movies. It’s costly to go to the movie theaters and concerts these days and I’m disabled. I wish her all the success and happiness in her life.
