Kelly Clarkson Fans Express Concern Over Major Change as She Shifts Priorities

Since launching her NBC talk show in 2019, Kelly Clarkson has opened episodes with her fan-favorite “Kellyoke” performances, where she and her band cover songs requested by viewers, guests, and audience members.

Over the years, “The Voice” coach has performed songs including “Take Me Home,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” as well as reimagined versions of her own music.

However, viewers have recently noticed that “Kellyoke” performances appear less frequently during the show’s final season.

Clarkson performed “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” by Dasha during the May 11 episode, marking her first new “Kellyoke” performance since April 30, when she sang her own song, “Cruel.”

Before that, Clarkson’s previous “Kellyoke” aired on April 20.

‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Fans React to Reduced ‘Kellyoke’ Performances

Fans shared disappointment online after several episodes reused older “Kellyoke” performances instead of debuting new ones.

“No new Kellyoke?” one Reddit user wrote earlier this season. “She’s already recycling old Kellyokes.”

Another fan claimed they attended a recent taping where a previous performance aired instead of a live segment.

“I went to a taping a few days ago and it was a recycled ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’” the viewer wrote.

Others noted that fans have slowly become accustomed to not expecting the musical segment every episode.

Another viewer added, “So disappointed in the taping of @KellyClarksonTV today. No Kellyoke.”

At the same time, many fans defended Clarkson and pointed to several possible reasons behind the reduced performances.

“She’s shared the behind-the-scenes of these, and how long they take to make,” one Reddit commenter wrote. “It’s possible things just got delayed.”

Others suggested Clarkson may also be protecting her voice ahead of future performances, including the remaining dates for her Las Vegas residency later this year.

Kelly Clarkson Prepares for ‘The Voice’ Return After Talk Show Exit

The changes come as Clarkson prepares to end “The Kelly Clarkson Show” after season 7.

Clarkson announced in February that she would leave the daytime talk show to focus more on family following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who died in August 2025 after battling melanoma.

“I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for,” the “American Idol” season 1 winner said in a statement.

She continued, “All the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”

Despite ending the talk show, Clarkson recently confirmed she will return to NBC this fall as a coach on “The Voice” season 30.

NBC announced the news on Instagram with a video celebrating Clarkson’s previous coaching moments on the series.

“She’s baaaaack,” the network wrote.

Clarkson originally coached on seasons 14 through 21 before returning again for season 23 and later season 29.

Fans quickly celebrated the announcement online.

“The Queen is back!” one viewer commented.

Another wrote, “BEST. NEWS. EVER.”

Potential replacements for Clarkson’s daytime slot reportedly include Pink and the stars of season 4 of “The Traitors,” Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.
