‘Blue Bloods’ Star Denies Living in a Car After Losing Home: ‘I’m Not Stopping’

“Blue Bloods” star Jennifer Esposito shared some updates after revealing that she lost her home due to financial challenges.

In a new Instagram video shared on February 4, the former “NCIS” star thanked everyone who reached out to her, reassuring them that she’s doing well.

“I’m not living in a car,” Esposito said in the video. “The bank didn’t take my house; I had to sell it.”

In the same post, the actress-turned-director also detailed why she resorted to mortgaging her home to fund her film, “Fresh Kills.”

“I was pushed to do it after a horrible producer drove the film into the ground and I HAD to save it and my house made that possible,” she explained in the caption. “That’s what the tears were about- being forced to do something from someone’s else’s negligence.”

Jennifer Esposito Has No Regrets

Despite the setback, Esposito has maintained a positive outlook, pushing back against critics who have tried to shame her.

“I’m so deeply proud of myself, and I would do it again. Not in that way,” the “Blue Blood” star said in part. “Betting in yourself is never wrong.”

Esposito also reiterated the importance of supporting indie movies.

“That’s why it’s so important for you to get behind independent films,” she added. “Because there are so many hurdles to get through.”

Esposito Shares How Everyone Can Help

Shortly after opening up about losing her home, Esposito saw a surge of interest in her film, “Fresh Kills.” The award-winning actress said she’s been getting a lot of messages from people asking how they can help.

“This is how you can help. Stories matter. Human stories matter. From everyone, from different perspectives,” Esposito said in the video. “You don’t always get different perspectives when it’s coming from one place. So help independent filmmakers.”

She urged her fans to support her new film, “Mary Rides The F Train,” which she is currently raising funds for. Esposito also encouraged fellow actors to join the other projects she’s directing if they’d like to show their support.

“I don’t need a house, I don’t need big things, I never cared about being famous. I care about the work,” she added. “I don’t have any more houses to mortgage, but I’m not stopping. So there’s no shame and no more tears.”

Esposito won the Filmmaker on the Rise Award at the 2024 Astra Film Awards for her directorial debut, “Fresh Kills.”
